Cheers for the heads up, amberchoc, I've put that fixture in my diary.
For me, the gold standard in women's football is currently Olympique Lyonnais Féminin. England's Lucy Bronze plays for them, as does Izzy Christiansen more recently. Although Man City gave it their best shot, Lyonnais pretty much cruised to the Champions League title last season, chalking up a record fifth win in the tournament. They're a testament to how investment in training, coaching and infrastructure breeds success. Their wage structure is also a breath of fresh air, with players getting in the region of £150k pa. Not quite Adam Rooney money, but not far off..

I’m happy to say my opinion of women’s Football has changed a lot in the last few years. I went to watch a couple of Womens games hosted in Cardiff during the 2012 Olympics plus I’ve been to watch the Welsh womens team a couple of times (most recently the 1-9 win over Bosnia Herzegovina in World Cup qualifying, plus following the other WCQs on TV (including the heroic performance in Southampton against England). If you accept that there are differences in the style of play- the entertainment value is excellent and it’s opening the game as a whole to a wider audience
Hoping for a Welsh win next Friday! Cymru am byth!

Been to 2 women’s cup finals at Wembley, 2016 and this years when Chelsea were playing(not really for me for the teams but for the grandchildren), but must say it knocks holes in watching the so called upper echelon play. There is a passion with the women and although the finesse might not be there it is played the way football used to be played and all the more enjoyable it is for it. Long may it continue and grow and who knows we might even win the next World Cup 👍🏴

Thanks very much, my bad for missing the fact that programmes were available. I'll miss our next home game as I'll be in Cornwall, but I'll be back for the Halifax game. Can you hold onto it for me until then?

Well, as summaries go, that was genuinely brilliant. Best post I think I've ever read on here. With the possible exception of someone who wrote a ditty about Thurrock (or someone) with a similar strip to Brazil. Blimey, high praise indeed. Thanks! I ought to point out that I've just read on Sutton United Ladies' Twitter feed that AFC Phoenix are actually three divisions above us. If that's correct, then that makes tonight's performance even more impressive. There certainly didn't look to be 2 divisions of difference between the two sides, let alone three. Every one of those women should be very proud of themselves tonight, they're a credit to the club. Difference is 2 divisions. Next step for Sutton is the Premier Division and then the L&SEWFL which AFC Pheonix ply their trade. Still saying that sounds like a good performance.

And in the 3rd/4th Play-off England U20's beat France 4-2 in a penalty shoot out.
Fair play to them, matched the feat of the senior team of three years ago.

I think the person who said there were 3 divisions between the clubs forgot to factor in our promotion.

Already trying to talk my wife into a World Cup holiday in France next year...

The new season starts on Sunday 9 September 2018, I gather. Shame I'll be away then, but I'll try and make our second home game vs. AFC Phoenix Reserves on Sunday 23rd September...

Bit of a bump but England Women are currently beating Japan 2-0 in the SheBelieves Cup. As it stands they will win it.
It's live right now on BBC4 if anyone is interested.

Looking forward to the Women's World Cup in June even more after that performance! Edit: Especially given that Japan are in our group.
