I will need to dig out my old SUFC golfing umbrella. Let's hope they won't be a jobsworth and try and confiscate it as an "offensive weapon"!

In his pre-match interview DOS sets out the changes the management are making. Firstly a policy of bringing the younger players through which I am sure will be popular with all fans. Secondly a reduction in the number of long balls forward. By coincidence at Bromley last year neither of our central strikers could start so the attack consisted of two quick wingers, who did not come inside and exchange passes - they stayed wide. Since they both had the beating of the FB as often as not, Bromley's CBs drifted wider to cover - leaving a gap in the middle. It was through that central gap that Easty ran to score.
We have in Taylor and Eastmond two players who could exploit a similar gap. Josh hopefully has been working on his shooting.

The forecast tomorrow is shocking. Hopefully they will allow umbrellas otherwise we will get absolutely soaked. Hope no one gets pneumonia.

Fortunately that's not how pneumonia works, but hopefully nobody who already has pneumonia decides to go because it could make it worse!

Are SUFCTV working their magic tomorrow? I haven't seen anything posted yet...

Today's result will be will about which team wants it more. Conditions likely to be horrendous! I think our lads will be really up for this one and we owe them one after last seasons home drubbing.

I suspect that conditions will be worse for the supporters than the players! At least the players can run around and escape to the dressing rooms and get changed!
Some Bromley supporting pals tell me that they expect Brom to rest players for the more important relegation battle. I wish!

Wonder what that was like for the spectators, in wretched weather conditions, because it made grim listening on SUFCTV radio in the second half. Radio commentary can make a losing performance sound worse than it was to watch. Until he was subbed the commentators only mentioned Josh losing the ball, fouling opponents and passing back to the player who passed to him. Up front Charlie was not actually named until the 89th minute. but it was at the back the wheels seemed to come off when Pearce was injured - I hope it isn't serious. The anxiety Sol and Tony felt at every subsequent set-piece U's defended came across - so the concession of both goals to set-pieces was an obvious area of weakness. U's had a good claim for a penalty turned down by a ref who wasn't on Mark F's xmas card list already - one thing to watch for on the highlights, which may be a fairly short programme. Plenty to work on before we meet Bromley again.

A second half performance so dreadful that I won’t comment in detail because I don’t agree with calling out individuals on social media.

A second half performance so dreadful that I won’t comment in detail because I don’t agree with calling out individuals on social media. But saying that the first half was great. Some cracking performances there and a superbly taken goal. Aside from a poor 2nd half we're out of the competition because we didn't put the game out of reach in the first and 1 minute of terrible defending in the 2nd. Reminded me of a few seasons back at Hayes Lane when we lost 3 0 because our defence went missing for 5 mins. One last thing. A message to the idiot/idiots who decided it was really clever to trash the toilets after their 2nd went in to such an extent that they were taken out of use. You're not welcome at any Sutton game and you don't deserve to call yourself a Sutton fan. By doing that all you've done is inconvenience other Sutton fans and have tarnished the name of every supporter that was there today. Selfish and cowardly and very pathetic. Have some balls and own up to the club and offer to redeem yourself.

Yes i thought how stupid of people to trash the away fans toilet. What did they think they were trying to achieve apart from inconvenience other Sutton supporters.

Some shot for our goal but was that the only shot we had on target the whole game?

Miserable weather, miserable second half. Good first half though, we were the only team in it and a scorching goal to celebrate. That was about it in terms of football. Watching some of their idiot fans trying to goad their idiot counterparts and vice versa was all a bit sad, wish the stewards would’ve opened the gates and let them get on with it, would’ve been great to see the bravado (whilst separated by two metal fences and a ten yard no mans land) disappear instantly.
Wrecking the toilets and flicking lit cigarette ends into their fans. What is happening. Unimpressed.
Onto Halifax, we’ll stuff ‘em.

Yes i thought how stupid of people to trash the away fans toilet. What did they think they were trying to achieve apart from inconvenience other Sutton supporters. Oh they achieved something other than that. They managed to make our whole club look bad and Bromley may well ask us to pay for the damage, since it could only have been our fans. This was criminal damage. Someone who goes to matches and commits crimes that make our club look bad has absolutely no right to call themselves a supporter. Even if it's someone who follows the team home and away and makes a lot of noise, your support is more than cancelled out by the damage you've done. You're no Sutton supporter, you're someone who is hurting the club.
