PD often mentions that money is tight,we can't afford this and that,so my question is: what was the half a million we made in the cup run spent on?

As we have said previously, a significant proportion of the FA Cup money went towards paying back the loan against the 3G pitch and most of the remainder went on ground improvements, some of which are obvious but others harder to see, including:- - New LED floodlights
- cctv
- Additional crush barriers
- New turnstile block
- New toilets
- Structural repairs to grandstand
- Enlargement/Refurbishment of changing rooms
- Refurbishment of club bars
- New club shop
- Digital scoreboard
- Very boring bits such as asbestos removal, electrical re-wiring, plumbing works
More detail can be found in the company accounts, available via the club website.

I believe the new crush barriers cost well into five figures for a start!

Some money should be made available to rectify a major structural fault in the main stand at GGL.............. .......the seats are facing the pitch.....

This is an excellent read regarding NL finances from Maidstone co-owner Oliver Ash. Replies to questions, comments and fake news about Maidstone Utd and the business of football LINK.

I agree with Stewart - an excellent read. Credit to the owner for his honesty and openness.

Finally got round to reading this, a very frank and clear-headed assessment of the financial realities of competing in the National League.
Out of interest, does anyone happen to know the shelf life of our 3G surface?

That's good to know. Any idea why the Stones' Axminster is so shabby in comparison? The interview alludes to mistakes made, but doesn't elaborate...
