Could be famous last words and all that. But don’t think there is any chance of them going down. But let’s make sure WE beat them first!

Well relegation isn't something we have to worry about this season Furthermore, we only need 25 points from our remaining 15 games to break last season’s points record.

Can someone tell us where we were at this point last season (in terms of points and position?). I wish Statto.Com was still working, but since it went kaput, I have to rely on some on our own statto.coms

We had 55 points after 31 games last season, so the same.

Definitely had a bit of a poor run back end of last season so I’m confident we can squeeze past last year’s total. Not counting any chickens though!

Who was it on here who suggested Sutton could win the Conference South title a few years back when we were 13 points behind Ebbsfleet and then went on that amazing run? Can the same person have that same prediction please?!

Can the same person have that same prediction please?! That was me & Andy as well i believe. Let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet but we are getting closer to the top. I don't believe that Macclesfield were top until about a month and a half to go.

I don't believe that Macclesfield were top until about a month and a half to go. It was indeed! And Delboy is right. Mustn't get ahead of ourselves at all. Invariably when we've missed out in previous seasons, we've not got results against weaker sides. I'll start to believe a little more if we get positive results against Braintree and Maidenhead (certainly with the latter no repeat of the capitulation of last season). We were 15 points behind Ebbsfleet at one point, but I don't think we were more than 2 places behind them. It's tight at the top and with almost all teams having a blip, this could go down to the wire. I think we're clearly in the "dark horses" camp, but with how tight it is at the moment, we may well get to the start of April with no clearer idea who is going to take the top prize. Next target for us for sure is to secure a play off spot. As for promotion points - I think 95 points will win the title, and 80 points will secure a play off spot. So we've got some way to go. But then so do our rivals.

It would be one heck of an achievement though. Plus, I'd finally be able to play as Sutton in FIFA.
Complete opposite is in the fact that the oldest club in the world could quite possibly be playing in the 5th tier for the first time in their history. I fear for Notts County, I hope they don't do a Stockport.

We're coming in under the radar more this season. We spent much of last season in the pressure cooker of the top three. In fact, we hit top spot for the seventh and final time as late as 24th March after beating Chester. As Gareth mentioned though, we then had a run of poor results - it was only one point gained in the next five matches - before winning the last two to secure third place.
