So we're in our last 4 games of the season with the table looking like this for the teams around us
P W D L F A +/- Pts
7 Eastleigh 41 20 7 14 54 55 -1 67 8 Ebbsfleet 42 18 12 12 60 40 +20 66 9 Sutton United 42 17 13 12 52 52 0 64 10 Gateshead 41 18 9 14 51 42 +9 63
Last games Eastleigh: Leyton Orient (a) Gateshead (h) Dagenham (a) Maidenhead (h) Boreham Wood (a)
Ebbsfleet Dagenham (h) Havant (a) Dover (h) Bromley (a)
Us Leyton Orient (h) Wrexham (a) Maidstone (h) Dover (a)
Gateshead Fylde (h) Eastleigh (a) Chesterfield (h) Harrogate (a) Barrow (h)
I think Gateshead have the hardest run in, but odd to see how "local" both Ebbsfleet and Eastleighs games are. Looking at that run in, you'd say the best chance for a team to make 7th is now Ebbsfleet rather than Eastleigh, but thanks to the top 7 being in a play off game, our season isn't quite as dead as it would be. Currently Fylde sit in 5th, 8 points ahead of us with 4 left to play.

We'll know more after Tomorrow's games but with our makeshift defence, I'll be very surprised if we have anything to play for after the visit of Orient and the trip to North Wales. Stones already down and Dover will be safe by the time we play them, so we should be capable of holding on to our current position.
I'll go for Ebbsfleet for 7th place (although they might not want to play in the Play-Offs if their April wages are late...)

... they may not be especially motivated in the preceding games either, for the same reason.

That's the trick isn't it? Both LO and Wrexham have gone a little off the boil in recent games (especially the latter) so anything is possible. And knowing us we may get decent returns from those two games, only to put in a lacklustre performance against the side at the bottom of the table (which we know has happened before on more than one occasion!)
Our makeshift defence will I expect make a mistake or two, but it's really up to the front line to step up to the plate for these last 4 games. They I think more than the defence will determine our fate this season. A recognised striker hasn't scored for us since 16th March (Kearney) and in our last 7 games, our top scorer I think is Beckwith!

A difficult season for so many different reasons but the fact we’re in with a sniff with 4 games to go shows the sort of club that Dos and co have turned us into. Should be proud that we can hold our own in this tough division with such circumstances

After 2 goals from defenders followed by 2 goals from midfielders, perhaps we'll get some goals from the forwards?!

According to the notice board outside the ground we are at home to French League 2 team Lorient this Saturday. Sorry... I will keep taking the tablets.

SUFC to Paris with just one change Can't work out where Delboy wants to put his apostrophe though, or why...

Never mind an apostrophe, Lorient-Bretagne Sud requires a hyphen...

An early contender for most contrived pun of the year. I am impressed.
