Interesting question. Perhaps Matt kept him until he was sure he could land something better?

I guess Matt was hedging his bets incase he couldn't get the strikers he wanted and now he has brought a couple in he can let Gime go.
Have to agree with the others on here. He seemed to run past the whole of the oppositions defence and then mess up the final bit with either a poor shot or making the wrong decision. He didn't seem to be a target man like Lafayette or a natural goal scorer like Wright so never really fitted IMO.
Ironically the best goal I saw him score was against us away at AFC Fylde.
If Bugiel can be the target man we have been missing since Lafayette left and if Wright gets back to his former self after his injury we could have a decent partnership up front with Ajiboye competing for a place as well.

Gime was almost unplayable for a few games last season and for a little while it looked like we had a gem on our hands. However, it soon became evident that there is no end product, all his goals were scrappy, and that he didnt work in a partnership with any of our forwards. He seems like a player who may eventually come good but the phrase flatter to deceive seems to fit very well.

I believe we have let go of a real gem in Gime. One of the few players we have who would take players on.
Very disappointed to see him leave ! He has pace & power essential for the National league. I very much doubt if we have replaced him.

Quite happy with that news, thought he was dreadful. Use the opened up wage money to sign a top defender and it's great business. The fact he never lasts longer than 6 months at a club says all you need to know

I very much doubt if we have replaced him. I'm more of this school of thought too. Skill wise I thought he was one of the best we had last season. I think what let him down was his decision making. More often than not he would shoot when it would have been better to pass and vice versa but that could have been more a reflection on team mentality and where they were at that point than just him alone.

I suspect the reality is somewhere in the middle.

That's because football is all about differing opinions so there will rarely be a consensus.

...but such a radical divergence of opinion about a player, ranging from "superb" all the way down to "dreadful", is highly unusual.
