Having won back-to-back games in the league for the first time this season we now head into a crucial Easter weekend, starting with a trip to Salford. In our previous three visits we haven’t managed to score so hopefully that changes on Friday - both games over the Easter weekend are against sides in the bottom six so a good opportunity to gain further points in our quest to pull away from the drop zone.
Safe travels to all those going.

We need a win, as I think we all know. We also need Colchester (in particular) and Forest Green to lose. Start to erode the games in hand that they have over us. It would be nice if it was just about our own results, but the numbers say otherwise.
It's going to a tense Friday, watching the scores roll in.

Always a tricky tie at Salfords Not a happy hunting ground but needs must.
Colchester at Home to Newport, Forest green at home to Stockport & Grimsby at Barrow. Realistically you would expect Colchester to get something But Forest Green and Grimsby might struggle. Fingers crossed we can carry on our winning run and safe travels for all those venturing to the Greater Manchester area. Always a nice cheap ticket to get into the ground with no extra charges for seating.

Swindon could still come into the relegation battle. They have 44 points and their remaining fixtures are:
Notts County (H) Sutton (A) Barrow (A) AFC Wimbledon (H) Walsall (A) Grimsby (A) Morecambe (H)
They'll probably be ok just but worth watching out for their results if we keep winning.

It's worth nothing that the two of the weakest defences in the league play each other on Friday - and yes, Salford have a worse defence than we have (shipping 73 goals in 40 matches, to our 71). The difference is they've scored more goals than we have.
Worth noting as well that Salford have not kept a clean sheet since 13 jan (13 games ago). They are also on a 2 match winning run too. It's far from impossible for us to get something on Friday, and it will either be a high scoring game or a 0-0. Let's hope it's the former in our direction. FWP has it down as a 2-1 win to Salford.

After we failed to win any of our first three games in March, I decided not to bother with this one. (The closure of Euston station over the Easter weekend was also a factor.) Will I regret that decision? I rather hope so!
The Salford fans on their forum seem fairly confident of a home win, but also seem to quite like us!

Confident or entitled.. some of the comments.. ‘Should be a comfortable win on Friday now!’ ‘it's one we should definitely expect to win’ ‘Won’t be happy with anything less than 3 points tbh.’ ‘You've got to be expecting 3 points from this’ ‘SURELY its 3 points!’ Pin this on our dressing room door on Friday..

We were incredibly bad in the reverse fixture, couldn’t believe what I was watching of a Matt Gray side. So hoping we can put that right with a good performance. A win keeps us breathing and gives us a decent live game Monday.

Confident? We should be. Entitled? Definitely not. Here are more comments conveniently overlooked! 'Hopefully nobody for a minute is expecting this to be in anyway a total pushover' 'We should be expecting a tough game' 'They have found some form and it could be a banana skin' 'Them coming off the back of a couple of good wins throws a bit of a worry'

Going all out, think we come away with a 3-1 win.
Not expecting Forest Green or those worthless Colchester to come away with anything either. Think this really will be a Good Friday.

This lot love a dive. Need to be careful. Smith any touch at all and goes to ground for them.

Good time to score a goal!
Forest Green, Colchester and Grimsby all currently losing.
Nails may get bitten.

Things couldn’t be going better for us at half-time. If we do stay up this could be one of the greatest season comebacks of all time.
