Not sure allowing Smith free headers from every kick is the way to go here. Surely Sowunmi can challenge him?! Direct into him and he’s knocking it to runners.

Another great win to give us hope, but sadly Colchester are really bucking up and have 3 homes in hand, so it will still take a miracle to stay up

Just good to be giving it a go and winning. Another one Monday too much to ask for?

Hard agree with scorpioeyes.
We needed to win and we did, so all credit there. But Colchester look like being the death of us. There may be more hope that Grimsby will plummet. But it's still longish odds.

I am pretty sure players could bring a base ball batt and batter Smith with it and still not concede a foul against him? What is the problem with refs? Just because he is big it does not make him void of receiving free kicks when fouled.
Other than another awful reff, it was a dogged performance from the boys making sure that if we do go down it will not be without a fight, a bit if pride restored and showing us that we are not such a bad team.
Shame about Colchester, who are going to have to put more shifts in than we are with three extra games to play... Grimsby also now with a bit more pressure on them...

Well done lads that’s one good result and with Grimsby losing we are right in this, yes they do have two games in hand, but will they win them both, looking at their form me thinks not and the pressure is on them, so win Monday and we could be out off bottom three, so let’s keep believing we can do this.⚽️⚽️⚽️

Really proud of the boys. If we do still end up going down then at least we can say we have it a damn good shot. Team is looking so much more dangerous than a month ago.
It’s a shame those worthless Colchester ruined our day, but Grimsby have been dragged back down into the fight. All we can do is our best now. I’d say that we need to win at least 3 out of our last 5 games, but that would still require a lot of luck.

Colchester host Grimsby on 16th April.

This is a game we'd have lost 1-0 a few weeks ago.
I've been a bit critical of Olly Sanderson, but I have to say (watching on iFollow) that he took those two goals well today. Otherwise it was a bit of a scrappy win, but who cares?
We got the three points despite another performance from referee Paul Howard (the clown we had at Crawley) that will have done nothing to revive the value of his stock in the Sutton camp. He's another one who won't be on Harry Smith's Christmas card list.
We're up to 6th in the form table, but that late Colchester winner keeps us 23rd in the table that counts. That form mustn't run dry.

Come on! Yes! Oh, my days. As the kids say. Not since the mid-90's.......or has it come round again? Fantastic result, for some reason I'm not too bother re Colchester nicking a win as I do think it is easier chasing than being chased (having done neither myself I may be talking out of my backside.....again)

Colchester start a really tough run of games now, that was a vital win for them to state the obvious. Could see them not getting much from their next 4. Most important thing to do is win Monday and the table might look a touch kinder.

Probably out again, now.
