After 3 successive wins, we welcome Swindon Town to GGL on Easter Monday. I felt that as I live in Swindon, I should perhaps start the match thread. Although Swindon beat Notts County, I wouldn't read too much into this as both sides are struggling for form at the moment. Swindon fans are not a happy bunch at the moment, very disgruntled at the football they are watching at the moment. They always consider they deserve to be in a higher league, but have really fallen away after a good start to the season. They always seem to be having some crisis or another, whether it is money issues or managerial appointments. I'm looking for us to get some revenge after a bit of a hammering at the County Ground and we beat them last season at GGL. Obviously Charlie Austin and Harry McKirdy if playing are danger men, but I feel we can nullify the threats they bring and both have been warming the bench lately and McKirdy is not the threat he used to be since returning from playing for Hibs in Scotland. Looking and going for a win and for Tranmere to do us a favour against Colchester at Prenton Park.

Although they best Notts I trust we won’t make the same abysmal errors. No doubt on their day Swindon are a match for anyone, however we must and will get 3 points

I (for once) am going to predict a win. I don't see Swindon as anything special and they have little to really play for. Our team are starting to find their feet and will be feeling the confidence that brings. The bench options, when subs are made, are beginning to look convincing, not weakening.
And we hardly need more motivation to go for the win than we have.

With all due respect to Swindon, who've posed a major goal threat when we've played them in the past, this looks the easiest of our remaining league games. They're not in great form, with only two wins in their last ten matches, and three defeats in their last four. They did beat Notts 2-1 on Friday, but, as JR indicated, both their goals were gifted to them (an almost own goal and a goalkeeping howler).
Like ours, most of their recent games have been tight affairs, drawn or settled by the odd goal. So we'd have to work hard for any victory. But that's what this Sutton side have been doing. Like Salford, Swindon are on 47 points, so are pretty much free of relegation worries. As in our last two games, we'll want the win more than our opponents. The players just need to keep showing that desire.

FWP predict a Sutton victory, a Grimsby draw and a Colchester defeat
That would put Grimsby on 40 points, Us on 39 and Colchester on 37.

If this did happen, is it better to have points on the board or games in hand?

It’s always better to have points on board than games in hand. I’m not confident that Bradford City will do Sutton any favours tomorrow at Grimsby. The fans have started protesting against the owners recently and aren’t behind the manager, they’re very angry about their perceived underperformance.

3 points against Swindon would be fantastic. Can we make it 4 wins on the bounce.I would like to think so with our next home game against Stockport and we all remember the reverse fixture at Edgeley Park.
Easter Monday could bring out a bumper crowd and a good atmosphere.

Stockport’s 5-0 result against MK Dons, a side only 2 places below them, definitely put our result against them in perspective for me, when our situation was top vs bottom. I don’t think we should be so judgemental about our result there tbh.

Our performance there was terrible and was much like a good few performances previous to that game where teams let us off the hook, our team by that stage were completly shot of all confidence and belief. Stockport have had a couple 5-0 wins this year and are very attacking, but not sure that can sugar coat that day for us IMO. Since Steve has been here we have not lost by more than one goal. Though I imagine that may change as we head into a stage where drawing wont be an option and no doubt we will be throwing everything forward. Though if we win today then we might be able to get away with a draw at home to Stockport. I will predict a win for us today.

Bradford are in turmoil, so I’m not feeling hopeful that they will do us a favour. I think I’m glad that they play earlier today so we know the result going in.
As for those worthless Colchester, I’m hoping that Tranmere find the same form that they did when they beat Stockport 4-0 a few weeks ago.
