Going slightly off topic here but I've noticed Steve Morison seems reluctant to form any bond with the fans. Doesn't really acknowledge us at the game and he's often asked in his post match interview to say a few words about the fans backing the team. Yesterday he was asked to comment on the great support at the game. His reply...'yeah thanks'...Steady on mate don't get too carried away mate. I'd agree, he's keeping a definite distance. But as long as he's doing the job, which he currently is, I don't mind that at all. He seems, post match, to engage with some of the players with affection. He''s here as a troubleshooter. If he's still here next season the mood may warm. But it's worth remembering that our previous two managers were fairly touchy-feely types. In the case of Dos, positively heart-on-sleeve. So, the difference will feel very apparent. Steve is here to get results, its the media departments job to sell the product to the fans. It takes time to build a relationship with a club and its fanbase, and that will come with happier times and nurture. I actually don't think we are playing that differently from a few matches ago, we are still conceeding that annoying goal, but we are taking our chances and turning them into goals. A big thank you should also go to the ref and the weather, the match was very, very nearly called off. The dream is still alive, Lord Lucan is in the car park

We should be grateful to the ref for letting a match be played on a perfectly playable pitch?!

The team has played well in most of the games under Steve Morison but, until recently (with the notable exception of Notts County away), wasn't winning. What's changed?
There does seem to be more confidence and determination since the careless defeat at Crewe, which left our survival prospects close to rock-bottom. Four days later came the pivotal win at Forest Green. That new fighting spirit showed in the win at Salford City, a difficult team to play against. But I have to say that the three other recent victories were all against sides who played quite poorly against us on the day. We shouldn't expect our remaining four opponents to be as soft as FGR, Accrington and Swindon.

I thought Forest Green looked pretty poor and Swindon looked poor, but Salford looked decent and so did Accrington Stanley. Previously, we had made hard work of both Grimsby and Colchester at home, only taking 2 points. We certainly have a harder test on Saturday against league leaders, But there are no easy games in this league. Crewe will contest to this, having just been hammered at home 3-0 against Forest Green. I think another factor in our little run is that the management has got it right, and we seemed to be fully prepared for what we were facing, Doing the right things. Let's hope this continues.

I think I'm right in saying that the team has been settled for the last few matches whereas there was a fair amount of chopping and changing previously.
