Following our fine points return over Easter we find ourselves at home again this weekend welcoming table toppers Stockport County, sure to provide a greater test than our previous 4 opponents who we’ve secured wins against we must take that confidence into this clash! Indeed the away game at Stockport in December signified Matt Grays last game in charge of the club with that heavy heavy defeat - really hoping we can deliver some form of revenge to them.
Big crowd expected for this one, pressure on us - pressure on them and a lot of the crowd no doubt glued to goal-update apps.

I think we have a chance, they only beat Wimbledon one nile with Wimbledon missing a penalty, so as long as we don't do anything silly we can get a result. The players know what’s at stake and will be right up for it, and also a good time to play them with our four wins and a big crowd, so let’s do this for the club.⚽️⚽️⚽️

Many of us will be viewing this fixture with a degree of trepidation, and those of us who were at Edgeley Park last December may still be haunted by memories of our team's inept performance that day. But some of the Sutton players involved in that game may feel they have a point to prove this Saturday, and of course several players have left or joined us since then.
Stockport are clearly a good side at this level; as well as topping the table, they're the second-highest scorers in League Two with the second-best defensive record. But they're not invincible; they lost 4-0 at Tranmere in February, though are unbeaten since then.
With four straight wins behind us and a more settled starting XI (perhaps without Ryan Jackson, who limped off last Saturday), we can approach this match with renewed confidence. I'm not predicting a home win, but a draw wouldn't be a huge surprise.
This is the first of two trips to the south-east for Stockport in four days, as they're at Colchester on Tuesday evening. We'll be hoping they give us a helping hand in the second game! One consolation, if we do lose, is that the Hatters may then be able to seal an automatic promotion place with another win on Tuesday (though that would depend on how MK Dons and Barrow get on).

I think I read someone saying that this game is a free hit and I kind of agree with that. It's the toughest of the four remaining games and obviously it's possible we could win it with the confidence running through the team but a defeat wouldn't put us down. We can win the three games after that. Whatever the situation Saturday night the fight is still on.

You know what, I rather fancy we can do this. We're on a roll, the stakes are MUCH higher for us (Stockport would have to stumble into absolutely appalling form not to secure an auto promotion spot and can afford to lose one game along the way) and I can't help but remember what Moro said before his first game in charge: "It's not Brazil. It's Barrow." Stockport aren't invincible, they're a League 2 team just like we are. Sure, they're likely to be two divisions above us come next season but unexpected results happen every week in football.
We'd have to work bloody hard for it, mind.

I wouldn't be overly surprised if you do a job on us on Saturday, the form you're in. I certainly expect you'll be a much sterner test than FGR were on Good Friday, believe it or not I'd say that was a more one sided game than our game at Edgeley Park earlier in the season - despite us only scoring 3.
Obviously from a a selfish perspective I hope that we end your winning run, but that you start a new one the following game and stay up.
Rumour from our end is Louie Barry could be back in contention Saturday, more likely the Colchester game on Tuesday though.

One thing we can be reasonably confident of is that we'll be tougher opposition than we were last time we played each other!!!
PS please thrash Colchester off the park thank you

With wind gusts of up to 40mph tomorrow, anything can happen! With those winds coming from the south west, it may well favour the team kicking towards the Collingwood Road end

I don't think we can go into our last 3 matches (2 of them away games) almost certainly needing to win them all. We need something out of this and, in order to take any of the pressure off of ourselves and plant it on Colchester and Grimsby, we need a win. A big ask but we can do it. 2-1 to Sutton.

Your just another Cup final for us. We have to find at least two more wins this season to give ourselves a fighting chance of staying up.

Sounds like Barry won't be in the squad tomorrow, but might be for Tuesday against Colchester.
Here's our manager's pre match interview:

Jackson out after going off on Monday with a tight groin and Eastmond still recovering from his groin strain but he told me he hopes to be in the squad for Harrogate.

I’m feeling as good as can be. We have the second best recent form in the league (behind Doncaster), no better time to play our hardest remaining fixture.
I think Grimsby and Forest Green both could take a point today.
Expecting a loss for those worthless Colchester.

Not looking forward to the drive round the M25 on a Tuesday night and would much rather they went down than you! A route less prone to delays is leave the M25 at Jn 27 and join the M11 then at Jn 8 take the A120 to Colchester. I hope Louie returns for you on Tuesday and rattles a few in.
