Taken from the Worthing forum..
I had the pleasure of taking my son with me today to see Sutton play Southampton. A very friendly club, nice ground and a good bar with 2 real ales on. Bombardier and Cornish Tribute. I had one for you Roger! Looking to Worthing's friendly against Sutton, I must say that Sutton look a class team. They pass the ball well and have a lot of pace. At times they made Southampton look very ordinary. For those who go, Sutton should provide a stern test for what should be an enjoyable game. Roll on the new season.
Also....
Oh yes I was there manning the tea hut. Firstly I have to say it was a real pleasure meeting so many of Sutton's excellent fans. I hope they enjoyed their day and had a safe journey back to Sarf London. And I loved the tribute to their returning pie fancier Jared
I thought the performance was vastly better than on Thursday but then it needed to be. We worked hard and tried to pass the ball about but struggled to create too many clear cut chances. I reckon Terry Dodd will score but we have to give him decent ball to work with. I still thought there was a problem at the centre of the defence (lack of understanding perhaps which can be worked on and to be fair we won't often have to face a front two of the quality of Jolly and Dundas)
Clearly we are still a work in progress. And so far we haven't scored a goal against any of the higher placed teams we have played.

The tea bar guy is a legend. I went to get a bottle of water, and he asked me who Jared was, so I explained and he thought it was brilliant ;D

As another, more popular ;D returnee, I was really impressed by what I saw on Saturday against a determined Worthing team. I liked BWG's running, Richard Jolly looks the part, took his goal well. Dundo is his old self, and the defence looks good. I'm really excited for the coming season.
