Edited to add, I felt really sorry again for Richard Jolly, the guy works hard upfront, set our goal up but gets poor service and support. Still he should of buried that chance not long after we equalised. If there was a instruction to find Jolly in the box we would have won today. Bradley only had to square it to him to tap home but decided go for goal.

I'm just glad that Hamici was suspended for Cray today. With a sharper finisher on the pitch they'd probably have won.
We do tend to struggle at home against lower profile opponents. But there are no easy games at this level. Cray have some useful players and gave it a go.

A case of a point gained rather than two lost yesterday. I'm starting to think the problem we have is me. Every game I watch we're not at the races!
FALL OVER 9!

Just out of interest, did you just have a bad day at the office yesterday or do you guys sense a slight falling away in confidence after your barnstorming start to the season followed by two tough games away against your nearest (current) rivals? Re delboy's comment - are you really that short of strength in depth?
PS: I would agree there are no easy games in this league - look at the record of the only two sides we (ie K's) have lost to so far in the league! Bizarre...

TBH, I just thought we looked really disjointed. Just as we've really looked to kick on with playing some good football, we've just started launching it. WTF?
Get it down & play. We've got 2 proven goalscorers up top, so give them some sodding quality to work with!
I'll take a draw from yesterday as we were so under par. Second half in particular was awful.

Cheers Taz. Eerie how the comments here, including yours, echo the sentiments on our Board re our less successful games this year. When we play Dean Lodge - all 5 feet and small change of him - up front alongside a gentleman called Traynor , why do we sometimes resort to lumping it into the stratosphere, too?
Here's hoping that both sides learn to keep it on the ground and play as we can when next we meet. And then, may the better side win.
Cheers to you and all others on the Dark Side (...of the A217).

I can't see us getting promotion on that performance,i don't think we're good enough.our strikers could'nt srike a match'and watching Jolly he dose'nt seem to be able to control the ball.i hope i'm wrong but we should win our home games.how can a team with small forwards like they had win the ball in the air,and we never won a second ball nobody followed it in case it rebounded, not a good preformance.

OR.... they were the first points we have dropped at home this season and, shock horror, sometimes teams win leagues after actually daring to lose a home game !
Everyone predicted this would be a close league this season. Makes it fun ! :-)
It will hard tomorrow night as well.

I thought Cray were a pretty good side. They have had some good results against other sides and have only gone down by the odd goal when they have lost. Draw with Bury - beat Ton A and should have beaten Carshalton. This year there will not be run away winners of the league, so we have to scrap for every point. Having said all that, when we do try to play it through midfield we are not creating enough and on Saturday played far too many high balls to RJ, who must be getting a bit fed up. No doubt about it we need to start clicking in the last third of the pitch. Strange but for a team at the top we seem to be going through a rather nervous and ponderous period.

We never kick on until Xmas anyway, so no panic yet. We've had a better start than before, which is going to a be a big help come end of the season.

What was Dos' target? 20 points from the next 10 or something? We can still easily do that, but tomorrow night is massive.

We can still easily do that, but tomorrow night is massive. Agreed! Tonbridge are on a great run at the moment and scoring goals for fun (unlike us ). Play as we did against Cray and we'll get beaten.

Well we can't afford to wait to click until after Xmas if we do want to win the league, it's why we haven't contended before. The performance was shoddy. They are mid table. Yes it may be first home points dropped, but Tooting in the cup previously will also probably be no more than mid table come the end of the season and more than matched us. We lost to Alton. That again represents a pattern of poor recent performances at home this season. Yes it is a tough league but we need to be showing we are better than these teams now if the target is going up. There was a lack of ideas, lack of simple use of logic (like hit any long balls to Forbes as opposed to Jolly, surely basic no?) and the pitch can't be trotted out as an excuse every year for poor home form. Sorry if it sounds unrealistic but I don't expect magic football every game (I've been watching Sutton a long time!) and I know we have had a great start, but I go along tomorrow night hoping to get a result and not expecting. Not sure that can continue if you want to win a title. I hope that we see a performance that gives me reassurance tomorrow night.
Yes no time to panic but we have to get better. Otherwise we won't go up simple as that. Tonbridge is a big test, they may yet contend for top spot, and we need to bounce back.

p.s Woods-Garness needs to wear more appropriate footwear. Not sure if he uses the fashionable blades but they don't work on these pitches, he needs studs. The number of times he in particular falls over is unbelievable! (and I'm not knocking his performances and effort in any way).

I agree that if we play as we did against Cray (or for a large part of the game against Tooting the week before), we will struggle against Tonbridge.
I do think that the players will know this too and from the very short comments provided to the website by Dos (who clearly was not feeling great), he knows it too. They will not want a repeat either I am sure.
I am hoping that we can get back to the level of performance we put in earlier in the season as I then feel we can beat anybody on our day. Lets get the passing sorted out and then the midfield and forwards can repay the defence and goalkeeper who have worked their socks off to limit any damage in the last couple of games.
