Great result and a good performance overall.
I agree with frakey that we made them look shaky when playing through midfield and do wish we could occasionally play through the middle a bit more often (especially at home). I know this isnt always possible but we do look good when playing this way.
All in all a good afternoon and I look forward to the draw on Monday.
Congratulations to Andy Forbes for the hat trick and great work all afternoon again by Richard Jolly even though he didnt get his goal (they will come soon I am sure).

Not a bad result for a 'long ball' team [Ricay supporters view at half time]

Not a bad result for a 'long ball' team [Ricay supporters view at half time] KBB There is nothing wrong with the long ball if its the right one, you have pace and the oppos are playing a high line and Ricay have done that twice against us and it cost them both times. There is big difference between that and a side who just sling long balls into the box hoping for scraps. As we showed in the second half we can also play through the middle too, we just can't hold the ball in the middle which I think is our weak area.

I must say, the support was excellent in the second half.

Yep let's hope we can keep that standard for all the home games.. Not many there but those that were played their part.

to get four (4) goals at home, the first penalty and Forbes hat-trick upsets the stats as well!
shame we have to go to Canvey on a tuesday night, but hope we either get an easier home tie or a money spinner away for the first round.

Rubbish Gareth!!
Good result and Kav's cool touch to Forbes to score his third was a highlight for me.
Good noise also and a lot of credit to Jared for getting everyone going.`

As for the game, entertaining stuff. Swung back & forth and well worth the entrance money. Class goal from Forbes for the hat-trick and a rasping finish from Brad to finally finish 'Ricay off.
Would rather it had been 3pts in the league, but there you go. Money in the bank and chance of an attractive tie & hopefully a big crowd somewhere.

Is the draw for the next round today? Can't find any mention on the FA site.

Yes, late morning although somehow the draw always seems to leak out early.

I thought we were well worth the win on Saturday. The 1st penalty was harsh, but as stated above I think the ref was in repentance mode and looked to give us the 1st penalty possible. Not that I'm complaining. I thought the 2nd half was going to be tight, but all credit to Forbes and then BWG (with large contributions from Kav and then Jolly) for calming the nerves when they needed to be calmed. Nice to get £4,000 in the kitty, Eastleigh in the next round will be tough, but I think it's a winnable game.
