Dos's thoughts on the game are here: www.suttonguardian.co.uk/sport/football/8738950.Sutton_can_cut_it_in_Blue_Square_South_despite_Trophy_exit/Over the last two years we may have lost sight of the gap in standards between the Ryman Premier and Blue Square South. For evidence, look at how the two clubs promoted this year are struggling at the higher level - Dartford stormed to the Ryman title but are languishing at 17th in the BSS while Boreham Wood are second bottom. Of course, on its day a Ryman club can beat one from the higher level - as we proved against Hampton & Richmond last season. But we all know that teams don't play to the same standard in every game. The Eastleigh fans on their forum thought their team under-performed on Saturday. Last night we saw what happens when a decent BSS side steps up a gear.

Tony D, last night's formation was basically dictated by who was fit to start.
The giants point is interesting, most teams in our league think our back 4 is enormous. Maybe we need to think about keeping them in grow-bag between games ?

I note is Dos's interview the report states that he's looking to bring a player back? Who can we think of. A Woking player currently on loan at Ks?

Having reflected on the game overnight I am still of the opinion that the referees decisions lead almost directly to Eastleigh's first 2 goals and effectively killed the tie. With that said once we were 2-0 down we never looked like getting back into the game and the more we tried the more likely it looked although Eastleigh would score more. They looked very strong, cleaned up most things in the air and obviously like playing on the counter. Unlike us they took their chances, and to me was our biggest concern. We had chances over both games to score but failed to do it and even I cannot blame the ref for that. We have a better squad now then we had in the conf sth most have that level or higher experience and there is simply no reason to believe that despite our improvement the conf sth has improved still further? Eastleigh are certainly a decent side with power and strength, but they need that first goal. The game reminded me a bit of our matches against Dartford last season, 3-0 defeat at home us failing to get the first goal. We then went with the same team and beat them 2-0 away and made them look pretty ordinary? Any chance Scooby could be on his way back

The only thing we lacked was power! We dont seem to have any... apart from Dundas but he always seemed to have his back to goal and passing the ball backwards! The only other complaint that I had is that i'd like to see Scriven release the ball quicker sometimes... He always seems to hold it and wait for the players to group up again!

Dos says he is talking with a former player. Micky Mellows, Larry Pritchard, Paul McKinnon or Micky Joyce? Back to last night. Most of you have summed up the game very eloquently. I hope the referee has writer's cramp at the moment. How did we get so many bookings and Eastleigh only one? They were much smarter with their niggling fouls. Eastleigh had 4 guys in their side that made our bigguns look like dwarfs. Tom Jordan made a big difference as I thought he would. I said after the first game that I sat in front of 2 very obnoxious home supporters. Last night being at home I thought I might get some peace in the centre stand. How wrong was I? They had more so-called officials than you could shake a stick at - even more than their "only sing when they are 3 up" so quiet fans. In all my times sitting there I have never heard opposition "Directors" take the pi$$ out of Sutton before. They only wanted to talk rationally when they were 4 up.

Former player - well lets see who's free? John Scarborough? Paul Honey? Quarm back from Woking on loan? I suppose its kind of a bit dependant on what happens with Forbes.
I doubt it will be Westy.....

Accepting CoSec's point that the team was dictated by injuries, I would have thought a better formation would have been to have BWG up front with Jolly and Craig adding some steel in midfield.
If you don't compete in the middle of the park, you won't have enough ball to do anything. I'm struggling to recall a shot at goal which didn't come from a free kick.

I'm really hoping the player is Jonny Scarborough - be great to have him back here.
Still gutted about last night. But now we have the league to really concentrate on.

Just what I was thinking Jon.
Payne would be a good shout too - think he's only been playing reserve football for Gillingham
