There are many Crawley and AFCW supporters who are disenchanted Sutton supporters.Crawley were not getting great support before they progressed up the pyramid and we have a bigger catchment area. We might have a bigger catchment area than Crawley but not AFCW. But there are also many more clubs in a ten mile radius to us than Crawley. Also, as Stewart has pointed out, we only have one million to spend. That takes care of the pitch and Bruce's Bentley.

No but my point is that crowds increase with success and we can only surmise what they could be in the future.

No but my point is that crowds increase with success and we can only surmise what they could be in the future. However I know what crowds we got in the 80's when we won the title twice. Also people have more things to do with their time than in those days, more's the pity. I bet you any money you like (I will invest it wisely) that the pre-war crowds and the 50's and 60's will never return to GGL regularly. Although give me a down payment of £100M and then the same each subsequent year I might just get us in the Champions League and on Sky TV each week. Who needs crowds then? Sorry Stewart but look what dreams you have started!!

I'd build new stands down the park side (pay off the fdp) and behind the Collingwood road goal. Undersoil heating and proper pitch covers. I would also put money into creating a Football acadamy so as a club we can have the oppertunity to attract some of the best young talent in the wider area. Obviously being a non-league club it'll always be hard but if we could invest the needed money it would all be much easier. We have a good record of bringing in good young players, but we could do more if we had the money to invest in youth. Oh, and I'd subsidise under-16's entry all season. Get them young

Yes why not. They haven't suddenly appeared out of thin air.I live in Redhill and go to watch Sutton but i could quite easily go and watch Crawley if i was that way inclined. In fact i was standing next to an ex Sutton regular fan at Carshalton and he was going to go to Crawley the next day.

If I had a million I would spend it on me, nice car big house and a nice comfy portacabin with a good view at both ends of GGL But if I had 2 million then I would use my spare cash on the clubs infrastructure and getting the pitch sorted. A million is worth a lot more with grants so it would probably ensure the FDP became a reality. At the end of the day attendances will dictate sustainable player spending and that will set the level we play at. We know that simply chucking money at a team to increase your fan base does not work. As for people changing the team they watch, its something I just cannot understand I couldn't do it my football heart ain't never gonna move so its a bit pointless going anywhere else. All I can say is the people that do it must be the kind who buy puppies for xmas and give them away a week later!

Interesting. I always thought we've held on to our support really well. Having done a quick google search 86/87 av league att 657, 87/88 682 when we were in the conference albeit struggling . I think the potential is there for regular 4 figure crowds. Get the stadium sorted and match day at GGL will be a far more enjoyable experience. Let's hope the plans become reality.

Drinks on the terraces might attract more support.

Cheerleaders at halftime would attract a few.
