Couldnt make the game today, but going by the previous message of a really poor half by us, why is it we struggle to go from the off?? we never seem to be wound up enough from the whistle

And it seems Bobbins held Lowestoft to a 0-0. Could do with the same scoreline tomorrow with Bury and K's.

....somehow not surprised by this result.....looked at the weather and faced with a 200 mile round trip decided against it. Its becoming a habit of giving the opposition a goal start, and then expect to claw our way back into the game. This habit must stop or our hopes for the league title will disappear.

Frankly to talk about title hopes at the minute is actually laughable. I don't remember coming away from a home game this season thinking we were the better side on the day (missed Horsham and K's so maybe it's me)!
First and foremost we've got to try and play some football. The first half today was as dire as I have ever seen down at GGL. 3 subs at ht led to a reaction for about 10 minutes then we lost shape and panicked increasingly as the game went on. Only Scrivs saved us from a loss and I've said that so many times this year. In fact when I try and think of reasons we are top, the only one I can think of is that Scriven has consistently saved and won us points. I have never seen a keeper make such a difference points wise. With any ordinary keeper we'd probably be mid table.
Bury next week will be interesting. Let's hope for a performance.

Very poor fair.Midfield was dreadful and if Quarm doesn't find his feet soon he may as well not have come back. Also i've yet to see why we signed Marsh -Brown except to add numbers. No shape or purpose apart from a 10 minute spell after half time.I believe the revolving door may be about to start again otherwise playoffs at best.We need someone with the vision of Poulton but they don't come cheap.

We need someone with the vision of Poulton but they don't come cheap. It's supposed to be Davis! He just isn't getting in the game. At least Kavanagh tried to get on the ball at the start of the 2nd half. Maybe he should get more starts??

To be quite honest, the first half was utter toilet. We gifted a very very average team a lead which they didn't come here to get - Concord came for a 0-0 and left the pitch at half time in the lead. And the reason is they played better than us.
Obviously Dos was not happy as a triple substitution too place, and we began to be more pressing. A deserved break and ball by Murray lead to a goalmouth scramble which BWG dispatched. For the next 15 or so mins U's were in command, and Fola could have grabbed a winner from a square ball by Jolls but went over the bar Mark Watson-esque (Not meant in a nasty way either - those are more difficult than they look). After that point we were back on the back foot, with some desperate defending, and badly thought out clearances which almost gifted them a win - probably a deserved one on the fact that they wanted it more. Thats fine when you talk about teams raising their game when they play us. The fact is that Concord didn't and we let then control the first half. At our ground.
I'm sorry but I think i've run out of the 'bad day at the office' excuses I can give. At least last week at Horsham there were a couple of players I could praise, but that first half was just shocking. We've looked unconvincing for a while, and if we are to remain top of the league we need to be firing at about 50/60% of our potential. Today in the first half it was about 10%, rising a little in the second half.
We need to stop the excuses. And we need to get back to winning ways. Ok we were without Forbes, but thats not an excuse for 11 players on the pitch to just constantly give the ball away. And although he did make some good saves, I have to include Kev in that. Today we were like a team with no confidence. Which is odd bearing in mind we are TOP OF THE FLIPPING LEAGUE.
Come on guys - we're all behind you here. Lets sort this together, eh?
P.S. No MoM this week - I don't think there was a player on the pitch today who stood out at all

100% Mr. K, totally hopeless first half, ten minutes ok second, then Concord should have had another couple.
Why no confidence, we are top of the league?!

Admittedly I didn't see any of last season so don't know how hood he can be, but if Quarm is lacking in match fitness he should have played for the ressies today at Met Police. We looked much better when Tom Kav came on - bit of composure in the midfield at last, and IMHO didn't deserve to have been dropped for the last couple of games

He can get up to match speed by playing 2 or 3 lots of 90 in the ressies. It's not like Kavanagh and Kenny can't do the job. He has to be performing better than them to get in the side . . .
