Highlights of the 1-1 draw at Home to Concord Rangers are now online here: I'm afraid I could only find three shots by Sutton players worthy of inclusion, and only one of them was a decent effort...the goal.

Having watched the 'highlights', I can only re-itterate my comments on the other thread. Total toilet!
There's roadkill on the M25 with more pace, shape and awareness than our defence at the moment. Can't say anything about the midfield because we didn't have one, did we???

.....if that was the best of the 90 minutes, I dread to think what the rest was like! On the number of chances made by Concord should have won with ease.............!

I agree with Frakey. Concord failed to win the game. To be playing as poorly as we are [excluding 15-20 minute spells here and there] and to still be top is something to turn into a positive. The next 8 games will tell whether we are good enough to win this. Let's get right behind the lads on Saturday and see if we can make a big difference.

It is a positive. There's been several games this year that we've won\drawn that we'd have lost last season. Certainly to be playing like saturday & still getting points is something.
The other sides not taking full advantage helps as well.

Agreed KBB.
Every team has a period when they don't play to their potential and the fact is we still picked up a point yesterday and lost no ground on Kingstonian, Bury or Lowestoft this weekend. We are still top by 6 points and deserve to be so over 23 games. The table doesn't lie.
We'll be back playing well and winning, hopefully next week; when we don't and still pick up points it has to be positive. We don't have a midweek game this week which gives us seven days to reignite our spark. This is an excellent set of players who will deliver.

I don't think its a case of us being negative as I would happily of taken our current pts and position at the beginning of the season. I guess recently its been partly frustration in knowing we can play far better and on my part a little bit of fear that we are going to chuck away our best chance to date to get back to the connie sth.
The reality is that its not only us failing to walk through open doors but the others too, also I would not swap our upcoming fixtures with those of K's,Lowerstoft or Bury etc. They have some very difficult matches coming up, Lowestoft will not relish a trip to Aveley tomorrow just 48hrs after a tough game on a heavy pitch, and neither will Bury who don't travel well in the week find Concord a soft touch on Tuesday.
I would be more than happy if we could get a draw at Bury followed by 2 home wins which we are capable of getting, and that will put all the others under a lot of pressure.
I would not swap places with any side in the league right now.

We've been very lucky this weekend, Concord should of finished us off before half-time yesterday yet we got a draw. Lowestoft dropped two winnable points (on paper at least) against carshalton and of course K's and Bury playing out a draw today. So we didn't lose any ground despite not playing at all well.
Of course one of the signs of a potential championship winning side is the ability to pick up points when they're not playing well something we of course did yesterday. There is a long way to go in the title race, we're at the halfway stage now, but I can't help but feel the last few performances have been a blip. Saturday is massive, play to our potential and we'll get something. I don't think Dos will let anyone off after yesterday

We got out of jail this weekend with the other results all going our way and nicking a point we did NOT deserve. I am sure we will improve and if it doesn't the revolving door will start spinning. At the final whistle I said that the result was a point gained rather than two lost. Concord have been doing OK and I was not surprised at the result just the abject performance the team gave us for which the Manager has apologised for. He is a very honest man and I am sure all the players now know what he thinks. The best bit of news is that Tom has signed a contract. He looks like a really good prospect and made a big difference in that 20 minute spell where we played football.
