This could be a make-or-break month for Sutton's title hopes. Our January form was patchy, and four of our six matches in February are against other promotion contenders.
Lowestoft are due to play nine league games this month (starting tonight, home to Billericay). That's a punishing schedule, but if they win those three extra matches then - other results being equal - they'll have caught us up with two games still in hand. Our match against them on the 12th is looking massively important.
More immediately, I think we have to be looking to beat Cray away on Saturday. That's a big ask - but both Hornchurch and Lowestoft have won there recently.

With K's losing its looking like a three horse race for the title. I have excluded Bury as i don't think they are good enough.

What planet are you on delboy ? Bury are well and truly in the mix, and having just beaten us, what does that say about us ? KBB

I think we have to include Bury as challengers for the title as their position in the league after more than half a season is impressive enough.
Things may look different after they have been to our place (fingers crossed) and played Lowestoft twice but until then I think we underestimate them at our peril.

While any club can get with in 3pts of us if they win their games in hand or indeed exceed our points total then they are in with a shout. Last season Aveley had a fantastic run-in to get 3rd. It would only take say Hornchurch or Concord to do that to make it more than a 3 horse race.
There is a long way to go yet.

Time to deliver if we are to challenge for the title. Of our next 5 games I think we need to win at least 3, including avoiding defeat at Tonbridge and beating Lowestoft.
If things go badly we could find ourselves struggling for the play offs all of a sudden.

One quarter of the way through Freaky February and Filbert's 'top matches' list now looks like this:
Sutton H Bury, L'stoft, H'church A T'bridge, H'church
Bury H L'stoft, Concord A Cray, Harrow, L'stoft, Sutton
L'stoft H Bury, T'bridge, K'stonian, Cray, Harrow A Bury, K'stonian, Sutton
T'bridge H Sutton, Concord, Canvey A Harrow, Canvey, K'stonian, L'stoft
K'stonian H L'stoft, T'bridge, Cray A Concord, Harrow, H'Church, L'stoft
Cray H Bury, Concord A Concord, Harrow, L'stoft, K'stonian
Harrow H Bury, T'bridge, K'stonian, Cray, H'Church A Concord, H'Church, L'stoft
H'Church H Sutton, K'stonian, Harrow A Canvey, Concord, Harrow, Sutton
Concord H K'stonian, Cray, H'Church, Harrow, Canvey A Bury, Canvey, Cray, T'bridge
Time to drop Concord and bring in planet Can-V?

With Ks winning today, a three point gap has opened up between 6th-placed Harrow and Cray in 7th. Provided we get something from Tuesday's game v Hornchurch (8th), the sides from Cray downwards can probably be discounted as title challengers. (And I'm not really worried about Ks and Harrow.)

I would expect the champions to come from the current top 3 with Lowestoft added due to games in hand, for anyone else to seriously feature as contenders then all the current top sides would have to fail in some way.
In short, if we do our job then only, us, Bury, Lowerstoft and maybe Tonbridge can realistically win the title.
At this moment its ours to lose rather then anyone else's to win!
