We're not quite at that stage yet. Tonbridge, Lowestoft and ourselves all have it in their/our own hands. We have the opportunity this week to put ourselves in a very strong position. Can we take it?!

Too tight to start making those sorts of statements. There is still at least 15 games to go; that is more than one third of the season!

I agree that it's a bit early to say "ours to lose".
Let's look again at the end of February and if we perform for the rest of the month like we have in the past couple of weeks, then we may be able to look that far forward.
My fingers are well and truly crossed for the coming weeks!

Just to clarify that mathematically the title is ours to lose, yes there is still 15 games to go but is we continue on roughly 2pts per game then no one outside the current top 5 has a realistic chance of overhauling that total, note I said realistic!

Its between Sutton,Lowestoft and Tonbridge and apart from Sutton i haven't seen the other two yet. However the other teams i have seen including Bury do not look like contenders for the title. However thats not to say that someone might not throw some money at one of the others to challenge.
What does stand out is that Lowestoft have a very mean defence but don't score lots of goals.

I'm not a fan of the phrase 'it's ours to lose' however I think I quite like the phrase 'it's ours to win'. Not sure though!

As things stand, we're in control, but the next couple of games are going to be massive. If we match Lowesotfts result on Tuesday and then beat them on Saturday we'll be at least 13 points ahead of them, meaning that should they win there 4 games in hand they can't go ahead of us. But Tonbridge will be a massive test. If we can take say 8 points from our next 4 games, including at least 4 from the games v Lowestoft and Tonbridge the way to the title will be relativly nice. But that's dependant on the next few results.
No-one can rest on their laurals. Not the players, nor the managment, and paticularly we the fans.

As Dos says, not one result defines the season, and winning the league means you are the best team over 42 games. Its no accident that we are currently 5 points clear with the best goal difference, most wins, 2nd best goalscoring record, 2nd best defence etc. This is as a result of the previous 27 games. We've also, with the exception of a small amount of time in October, been top of the league since the start of September. Every other team in this league would give their right arm to be in the position we are now.
Technically we could still get relegated, but no one has said this so far because based on what we have done before it won't happen. So playing the way we are, we can and should fear no one. Like I've said before I'm loving this season possibly even more than 98/99 season.
We WILL do the right thing. We have the team. We have the right management team. We WILL win the league. I've been convinced of this all the way through this season from day one. And now with attacking options of Dundo, BWG, Griffiths, Forbes and when he returns Jolly, for this level thats utterly frightning. Added to this the best keeper in the League by a country mile and a defence who after a few games of uncertainty, showed that they can be as tough as they come (again, look at the number of goals we have let in this season)
Winning these games coming up will go a long way to making that vision happen - but there is no reason why we cannot beat Hornchurch, Lowestoft and Tonbridge. I'd be happy with 9 points out of 9. We can do this.

Now nearly a third of the way through Freaky February and I've updated Filbert's list of 'top matches' again, dropping Concord & Hornchurch and bringing in Planet Can-V. I wouldn't like 'The Devils' away list. Planet Can-V appear to have the best run-in and could be a surprise package for the play offs.
Sutton H Bury, L'stoft, Canvey A T'bridge, H'church
T'bridge H Sutton, Canvey A Harrow, Canvey, K'stonian, L'stoft
Bury H L'stoft, A Cray, Harrow, L'stoft, Sutton

Can-V H T’bridge, H Sutton

Freaky Feb marches on and matches involving the top five contenders now reads even more comfortably. Only our match with Lowestoft was a top 8 'derby' yet most of our rivals dropped points all over the place Sutton H Bury, Canvey A T'bridge, H'church T'bridge H Sutton, Canvey A Harrow, Canvey, K'stonian, L'stoft Bury H L'stoft, A Cray, Harrow, L'stoft, Sutton K'stonian H L'stoft, T'bridge, Cray A Harrow, L'stoft L'stoft H Bury, T'bridge, K'stonian, Cray, Harrow A Bury, K'stonian, Harrow H Bury, T'bridge, K'stonian, Cray, A L'stoft Cray H Bury, A Harrow, L'stoft, K'stonian Can-V H T’bridge, H Sutton

Maybe, but their run-in is awsome.
