Hi all
Does anyone have any details about a former Sutton United player Don Stoker who represented the club during the 1950s as well as the British Olympic team?
I'm looking for details of his playing career as well as anything about his life away from football.
Hope someone can help.
Thanks. Steve.

I thought he died a little later than that. Others will know of course. He was what you might call "uncompromising"

Don Stoker played for Kingstonian from 46/7-49/50 seasons. He joined Sutton for the 50/1 season making his debut on 19/8/50 v Hichin Town. He retired from football early in the 58/9 season & took over as manager in what was a very brief spell. He made 302 apps for Sutton scoring 34 goals (many of them were penalties).
He managed Walton & Hersham from 59/60-66/7.
His numerous rep honours include GB Olympic squad, England Amateurs, The FA, London FA, Surrey FA, Athenian Lgue XI (he was Athenian Lge Sportsman 1955/6), Southern Counties and Middlesex Wanderers.

Dof, Filbert and Frakey thank you all of you, it's very much apppreciated.
In addition to Don's playing career do any of you know what he did for a living away from football? Also why a Durham lad was playing his football in Surrey?
Lots of questions guys sorry!
