Karim El-Salahi has described lifting the Ryman Shield as they highlight of his career to date.
The Sutton United captain hoisted the Shield aloft on Monday as the club celebrated winning the Ryman Premier League and promotion to Blue Square South for the first time in three years.
"It was a brilliant day and I have only just recovered," he said.
"It was just great and I have never seen anything like it.
"It was amazing and I stayed until about eight or nine in the evening and the fans were still going, they were really enjoying themselves.
"Lifting the Shield was the most enjoyable moment of my footballing life, I have never won anything like that before and it was a really great feeling."
El-Salahi joined Sutton three seasons ago from Eastleigh but suffered the heartache of defeat in the play-offs the last two years and admitted it had been now or never for the current squad.
"It was like the last roll of the dice really," said the 24-year-old centre-back.
"This year myself, the manager and a few others said we are going to do it this year or not at all.
"The manager said this was the last year he would be here unless we got promoted and I was in a similar position myself but thankfully it has gone our way.
"The success is down to a mixture of things.
"We had that little bit more experience playing in this league and the manager himself has improved as well.
"He is still quite young for a manager and this year he has got better with tactics and talking with players and the subtle things that aren't obvious.
"The players he bought in this year were also players that were perfect for winning in that league.
"They gave us something extra and complimented the squad we already had here."
