My Parents were on holiday many years ago in Jersey and a group of young footballers were staying at the same hotel and my Dad asked them if he could have their autographs for his football mad son. They gladly obliged signing a sheet of Hotel notepaper. It was another era as my Mum said they were all so polite and well behaved. Also of the 13 signatures i can identify they have total appearaces for this ONE CLUB of 2980! Some are easy some are very hard but see how many you can get.

You will see lots of senile old gits who collect memorabilia at Cricket grounds.Today i picked up some Glamorgan and Northamptonshire autographs from the fifties , sixties and seventies. I don't think they'd be of much interest to children. The kids tend to go more for photos nowadays , i think the correct term is "selfie"

I once asked John Barnes if he would sign a programme for a lady friend of mine, and to make sure she could read it, to which he replied, "It's not a proper signature if you can read it!".

I see Alec stepney's signature on there, was he a local lad?
Seem to remember a story from my granddad that he worked for him at the Phillips place over the purley way many many moons ago ?

David Sadler. Left Maidstone for Man U a week before Sutton played them in the AC in 1963. He was an inside forward then.
