During the eighties, my brother and I set off to Sutton's away games armed only with an instamatic camera and an almost total inability to frame a decent picture. Now I've finally scanned in, the resulting pictures , I wonder why I bothered or why we took them in the first place . Despite this, it may be of some interest to note how the grounds have changed. The link to this album on Flickr www.flickr.com/photos/foxtrot2/sets/72157639931147196/. Each photo has the date, result, competition, competition sponsor , ground name and capacity (at the time the photo was taken). To see this information the individual photo has to be viewed. I did not realise that the file name would be presented as the title, other wise I would have taken more care with the spelling . Those of you familiar with the Danny Baker and Danny Kelly show on BT Sport will realise there is enough material for the 'Keep Or Delete' feature to keep them going for ages.

Fantastic photos, some bring back memories of long gone grounds I have not seen for 30yrs.

Very interesting to see how different all the local grounds I visit now were back then. Woking and Staines are virtually unrecognisable, with Walton and Hersham and Raynes Park Vale being almost exactly the same!

Brilliant - memories of that Dagenham game, I think the referee and I were the only people in the ground to see Curly get chinned - Curly certainly didn't see it! Offender red carded. I was sat with silver fox and son and went mad - incredulous mad, not naughty mad.

In fairness, I forget how good some of those grounds were back in the days when I watched Sutton occasionally. Liked Leytonstone, Walthamstow, Dulwich and Tooting. www.derelictlondon.com/sportsgrounds.html

Hope you don't mind, I've tweeted your link from www.twitter.com/suttonunited - I suspect you'll get a lot of hits. I would like to tweet it to every club featured and @ mention them but that would take too long!

I saw that Millsy. Pat Staunton I think it was.
Amazing how many of the grounds in that gallery are no longer there.

There are a few faces I recognise. Can anyone put a name to them?

Utterly fantastic pictures. Best one i've seen of our old wooden stands on the Rec side. So many games there I remember too. I remember the Dagenham one standing behind a very enthusiastic bornatotter, and jumping over the fence to escape at that Aylesbury game!

What i remember about the Aylesbury game was my brother and myself arriving late and cheering on Sutton from the Aylesbury end,no one bothered us!

Great memories. Been to everyone of those places but as said before, so many have gone to be built on. Love the Loakes Park slope, Green Pond Road was a great place with an awful pitch and Granleigh Road was quirky.
However, the real eye opener is how so many of those still remaining have developed. Obviously Kingfield has seen huge change but so too has Boreham Wood, Aggborough and even GGL. The photo's of The Conference grounds just shows how non-league The Conference was back then, sadly, unlike now. How the hell did that Northwich match get played? One down pour and it was flooded.

There are some great results to recall (Yeading excepted!)
