Strikers Jamie Slabber and Damian Scannell have joined Bromley today. Having received two bids from the Kent club,we have decided to accept their third to allow Jamie and Damian to move to Hayes Lane.
Both players have now secured new positions at their work, which made daytime training difficult. We would like to thank both players for their efforts last season in achieving a best ever Conference South finish.
Manager Paul Doswell commented: ''It was a fantastic final offer from Bromley, and both Jamie and Damo were struggling with work to commit to training. Both are great lads and I wish them well at Bromley. From our perspective we are very excited about the coming season. We have in my opinion signed the best keeper in this league, have a great spine with Clough and Spetch, and Dundas and Spillane in front of them, and Williams and Taylor up front. Add the best winger in Dale Binns, and Lee Sawyer, who was a revelation at right back, and we are more than OK.
Louis John will sign on August 1st when his Crawley contract expires, Tom and Dammy will push very hard to get in the starting eleven, and I am very hopeful Kane Haysman will be with us on July 1st.
We are looking to sign a left back, a wide player and a centre forward, to finish the squad, all the targets have been spoken to and are letting me know as soon as possible."
Finally Simon Downer is waiting to see if work will allow him to stay, and the club have given him as much time as needed. He is desperate to stay, but a full time position might become available.
