This does not say much for your understanding of English? Is that meant to be a question? Were you confused whilst typing? And Fox is correct btw Oh no To tell is a demand to request is a suggestion and offers an alternative

so once more after MarkN steps in to throw some clarity on the situation, and potentially some info on getting ADMIN a shirt. The whole thread turns pernickety, with insults. Best left to MarkN and Admin to sort it out eh ! What insults? The clarification had already been made and ADMIN accepted it.

oh dear ! oh dear ! To be honest Idon't even know why I'm going to reply. But here we go ! As stated.
MarkN answered earlier and explained the situation to Admin, the situation, and like you say accepted what he said, not sure hpw. but like you say I'll agree with you. But yet, the thread goes on and on, about pointless total irrelevant comments. Seems you just want the last word on it Nigel!
Anyways moving on...

Sorry Juan I won't move on just yet.
My understanding of English is more than satisfactory thank you for your question (?) it seems that maybe you could do with a few pointer though.
My comment clearly stated “To a CUSTOMER” (note not “To me”) the word was even capitalised, this would imply that I was talking about a specific type of person at a specific time; to clarify a customer (sometimes known as a client, buyer, or purchaser) means a recipient of a good, service, product, or idea, obtained from a seller, vendor, or supplier for a monetary or other valuable consideration.
As someone who has worked in the Retail and Customer Service Industry for over 25 years I can assure you the words spoken to someone who finds their desires/needs not being fulfilled at this specific moment in time are not necessarily what they actually hear therefore being told to wait or suggested to wait both mean the exact same thing – therefore “To a CUSTOMER both of these statements are exactly the same”
I would also ‘suggest’ that you refrain from questioning someone’s understanding of language especially when you seem to not understand the meaning of simple words and phrases yourself. You asked “What Insults?” The meaning of Insult is a disrespectful or scornfully abusive remark or act – once you get someone to help you look up some of those big words you will realise your comment directed at me is almost a perfect dictionary definition of insult (and yes that was indeed intended as an insult).
You asked for ADMIN to draw a line under the question, he responded by accepting explanation and the words “Line drawn” this would indicate that you did not wish the discussion to continue and he accepted this therefore no more needed to be said on the subject. Yet not even 4 hours later YOU decided to bring up an earlier comment from the thread thus continuing the conversation.
To sum up this post contains plenty of clarification and an insult, leaving us at one apiece I am happy to leave it at that and does not require any further comment from you - let us see if you can prove Juan wrong and allow someone else have the last word.

Love a bit of an argument on here. As stated above Mr Fox the conversation was between Admin & Nigel. That line was drawn.
Had you not thrown your hat into the ring it would have been. He responded back to you. Whether he is right or wrong or you are right or wrong is irrelevant. He surely has the right to reply on an open forum as much as anyone else, including you, has. And if you don't like his response (a tad curt though it was) best not get involved in the first place.
As for being in retail, we are talking about a NL club's supporters' club shop here not a major retail outlet. If they haven't got a person's size they haven't got it and ordering just one item is not viable. It should also be noted that those who work in the shop do so on a volunteer basis, they don't get paid.
Interesting how such a minor misunderstanding can escalate into the trading of some equally minor insults.

Mark my comment was in response to the one after the one after a line was drawn so it was not reopened by me. I did not comment on whether the situation was right or wrong or even if could of been handled differently or more professionally I pointed out that to a customer the statements were the same as what is SAID is not always what is HEARD.
He was rude to me which has nothing to do with whether he volunteers or not, there was simply no need to be so rude. When was pointed out to him by other he could have been sensible and apologised or even just accepted it was wrong he chooses to deny there was an insult.
This is to answer the points you raised and not intended to further inflame the thread, perfectly happy to leave it there to be honest.

Who's looking for the final say now? Had you not made your statement about how a customer does not make a distinction between the word told and suggest then this little spat would not have occurred. Which is rather my point. Just found it all mildly amusing.

I keep seeing this as a club shop thread, but read nothing about any new items which become available. This what this thread should be about. I heard today from a reliable source that a new supply of caps, polo shirts (maybe in different colours) and replica shirts will soon be available. The same sourest reported that a shirt signed by the God called Dundas had been sent to a country far away. Our fame spreads!

If you care to refer to a prev post you will see that the situation concerning shirts has already been covered.
