It's been a while, and I thought I'd finally get round to posting this on the forum At the end of May, I went on a football trip to Slovakia, the plan was to see England C as well as two other games. Of course, this date got moved to a week before we arrived (cheers FA) so we were left with 2 games, Spartak Trnava vs Slovan Bratislava, and FC Petrzalka 1898 vs Topolcany. The Trnava game was good, but it was watching Petrzalka that I really loved. Their fans were brilliant and there was a very friendly non-league feel to it. Due to the fact both Sutton are Petrzalka were founded in the same year amongst other things had the Petrzalka fans interested in our club. I gave them some of Gandermonium's Stickers and the idea was that there could be an unofficial friendly fans link-up between the two clubs. Some of you may have noticed a fair few Slovakians have liked the Sutton United Facebook page for example. I'm currently saving up money for a Sutton United/FC Petrzalka flag and hope to be travelling back to Slovakia soon to see them again. Anyway, just thought I'd let you know about this 'link-up' in fans - it could be a fun thing to be involved in. And we may be able to sell some merchandise in Slovakia Facebook: www.facebook.com/petrzalka1898?fref=ts

Just a quick update: It looks like Petrzalka will start next season in the Slovak 5th tier (!) after financial troubles meant they had to leave the 3rd division. Won't be able to find results on 'Soccerway' anymore, but the Facebook pages should still provide updates

UPDATE: You might have seen the new flag today - the joint Sutton United/Petrzalka one. Looks like Petrzalka's ultras are going to invest in one to carry round Slovakia with them as well. A few Petrzalka fans are planning to come over to England to see a Sutton game during their winter break, sometime between November and February. I'll put the exact dates on here when everything is confirmed

Another quick update: Petrzalka secured the league title on Sunday! In front of a crowd around the 1000 mark apparently they won 3-0 to claim the title with a few games left to go. The Sutton United flag was paraded in the celebrations along with a few banners and an impressive pyro display. A new stand was opened (funded with money raised by supporters) as the club push back towards the top of the country after previous financial woes took them down. Sadly due to restructuring and expansion of the league system they won't actually be promoted, but will remain in the 5th tier for next season! Mind you I doubt they'll have any problem winning the league next year as well to start moving back up to where they belong

Found a video of the pyro show for those who are into European football - not quite Red Star Belgrade but not bad!
