That's another really superb set of photographs Paul and I am sure all of the players will be chasing you for copies. It is a great record of a fantastic day, I doubt we will ever see so many really famous Sutton players taking part in the same match ever again, we will certainly never see so many aggregate appearances in one match.
It was very hectic on the day but I enjoyed a fantastic evening later on with the Coventry team plus a few other familiar faces and the stories flowed almost as freely as the wine and they were all still buzzing about the game. The one thing they all said was how, when they gathered in the changing room before the match, it was like someone had flicked a switch and the "buzz" and banter was just like it had been a quarter of a century ago.
Those of us who enjoyed watching that team all those years ago really were so very lucky to have experienced not only a great era in the club's history but also a team full of not just so many really good players but also such genuinely nice people. As Barrie Williams memorably said, they are all "proper chaps".

It was a privilege to be on the same pitch as so many of U's finest over the years. I'm not sure Ricky Kidd would be so happy with me though, ha ha. Still, Dos repaid the compliment in the last min!!
The evening was great too. Kbb and me shared a table with Trevor Roffey, Sir Leonard Dennis of Catford, Prof. Robin Jones, Paul Rogers, Steve Fowler and Graham Morris and a couple of their ladies.
As Dave said, it was like 25 years had not passed. Brilliant day. But boy was it hot.
Should note the appearance of Chris Kelly who lives in France now and of course U's celeb fan Tim Vine. Great of them to turn out alongside the likes of Eddie Akuamoah and the Ekoku brothers.
And then the current U's squad won handsomely too.

Thoroughly enjoyed this game. Unless I'm very much mistaken , I detect the organisational talents of Mr Farebrother but thanks to everyone who helped get this together. What brilliant memories that brought back. We really have been most fortunate to have had so many great players play for us. Thanks for the memories.
