Get in there!
You'd like to think that getting the okay will just be a formality. With the Sutton Common Rovers groundshare next season we don't want to be lumbered with a grass pitch for them to churn up.

Haven't the council set a precedent in allowing carshalton to have theirs? Would have to be strong and reasoned objection to deny us surely! The Council turned CAFC application down. Only turned round on appeal when the residents had no voice!

I'd like to think that the club did a bit of research as to how likely it is to get approved. Given Dos' trade you do get the feeling he knows what he's doing! Support added too.

Only turned round on appeal when the residents had no voice! Not really relevant at this point. The point is that it was approved. Knowing this, the council is hardly going to turn ours down without VERY good reason and run such a high risk of having to go through a cumbersome appeals process again for exactly the same thing it had previously approved (which forms a very strong case in itself)

I see that the link up with AFC Wimbledon Ladies which Dos alluded to in his speech on Saturday is now official. More reason to hope that all goes well the council.

Just saying it was nothing to do with the council that CAFC got approval as they rejected it. I'm sure we'll do a much better job of the application than the legend in charge at their place!

Fair point! Just thinking that now the council know that's what happened last time and would be likely to happen again, they would consider the information within CAFCs appeal that led to the decision getting overturned. Presumably that information (whether it was them pointing out why the decision was unfair or what) wasn't available at the start of their application. Appeals are a lot of hassle, generally speaking.

If you read the application CAFC wrote when they first submitted it (which was on the Sutton Council website), I'm surprised they even were given a chance to appeal bearing in mind it had all the hallmarks of being written by a pissed off 8 year old who just had his sweet ration for the week stopped.
