Hi All,
Firstly a belated thank you for the fantastic home and particular away support season last season. We will do everything we can to give you more to cheer and excite you next season, and with better luck with injuries can be competing for another push for promotion!
With Jason Brown,Dean Beckwith,Ross Stearn,Tom Bolarinwa ,and Craig Mccallister we've added much needed pace and experience to the squad, and with Callum Hart and Louis John fit after successful surgery,it's like having two new players to those we've signed.Ive also been talking to Simon Downer about a possible return,as he's hoping his job will change, and he'd love to come back.Watch this space on that one. That would conclude our signings, all within our budget, which is still the most important aspect of managing the club.We simply can't afford Jordan Parkes,James Norwood etc,all players i would love to sign, and the well being of our club is more important than anything!!
Having said that,we have made a huge investment in the three g pitch, and i am so,excited about the future for the club. The surface is brilliant,we have had a fantastic response to hiring the club, but most importantly it brings our whole junior section into the club. They will train nearly all evenings of the week, and are also having five teams play at the ground on Sundays, along with AFC Wimbledon ladies. We also have the disabled team, ladies team, academy, and u18's training and playing here as well,so the benefits are immeasurable.Bobby Child's,our new Business Development Manager has done so well to get the hiring of the pitch organised, and with Wayne Shaw joining the team in July to assist Bobby we are in a very strong position.
The pitch will be ready on July 7th, the same day the first team report back for pre season, and for the first time, will be a level playing surface, with the slope now gone. We are very hopeful, that a league club will play us on Sunday 12/7, as a prelude to the big opening night against Crystal Palace ,and we are still talking to West Ham regards a 22/7/15 or 28/7/15 fixture. That would be 5 home fixtures,if sorted, which will be great preparation for the new players to knit together. We are also excited about the opportunity to play Jersey, and have three solid days to train, and bond together
The other big initiative this summer has been the season ticket offer/Membership offer, which hit the 400 mark on Saturday. Again a huge amount of time and money has been spent promoting this and we need you all to do your bit to encourage more people to come to the Lane. If we can all sell one ticket to a friend/family, we will hit our target of 1,000!!! With 5 pre season games, and 21 league games, that's £2.88 to watch Conference South football, and that's unheard of. Even Billy might come and watch with these prices!!
Finally, have a great summer and we look forward to seeing you all soon.
Regards Dos.
