I thought someone might have already asked this question but can anyone recall us having to play the same team three times consecutively in a season. Granted - its a little bit of an anomaly, Mr Frake you might be able to provide the answers..

In 76/77 we played Croydon 5 times in 9 matches, between 8th Jan and 12th Feb.

I'm probably wrong but I seem to remember in about 1997 we had a cup (FA Trophy?) match + replay + league game v Chesham Utd in an even shorter space of time, a Saturday/Tuesday/Saturday. We definitely went there twice in one week, anyway. I remember having two of their blue programmes side by side in my collection

We played Bognor Regis Town three times in seven days in October 1985. The first was a league cup match that ended 3-3 at GGL, the second was a league match which we lost 2-0 at Bognor and the third was the replay of the league cup match which we won 3-1. Lennie Dennis made his debut in the league match and scored in the cup replay. The league match played on 19/10 was the last we would lose until visiting Yeovil on 22/04/86. U's won both League and League Cup that season. One other small point (and why I remember this sequence so well), is I missed all three matches as I was on holiday. So me and Bedsente have something in common.
