.I think we should be too good for them. Based on what exactly? Based on the fact that we were playing at home and have been playing well. Nothing wrong with being confident.

Very unlucky not to win against a decent side, but not a top notch side. Yes they got away drawer which they will be happy with, but in truth they were 2nd best most of the evening.
We had number 16 & 17 off the woodwork tonight, spooky!!!
I thought the ref was playing for an Oscar tonight with one of the most inconsistent displays I have witnessed for a while. The lead up to their corner which they scored from looked way offside, nothing wrong with the disallowed goal at all, possible missed a pen for them, inconsistent bookings, and what on earth was that drop ball about?

I wish, I wish he'd go away!
Seriously though, accurate attendance figures do become more of a problem the more season tickets one sells. You have to count them, because technically they've paid to attend the game and have every right to be there. But of course they also have the right to not turn up, so how can the club know whether they have or not? In the premier league it's easy, you can get everyone to scan a barcode on their ticket as they enter or whatever. Some non-league clubs get around the problem by using a clicker to count how many actual people pass through the turnstiles. But unfortunately that's not really practicable at GGL where so many ST holders enter through the bar where there's no turnstile and we might pop into the ground and out again before KO. I was wondering during the summer how much of an issue this would be, but I must add that our crowds are visibly larger too. You wouldn't have expected that many people on a Monday night last season.
Well, of course you'd have expected 0 people on a Monday last season because our midweek games were on Tuesdays, but you can see what I'm saying.

Great entertainment last night.Off the pace in the first half we made up for it with great pressure in the second half.Dan Wishart was outstanding as was Tom B.

The figures are correct when one takes into account absent season ticket holders and the like Thankyou for explaining.Have i got this right ? The attendance figure of 809 includes about 300 people who didn't attend ? ......although, all the missing had paid to be there. Come on Billy, you know how it works. Compare it to the next cup (Trophy) game attendance, if we ever get a home draw!!

I can't remember the details of the cheap season ticket offer but how many games would you need to attend to make it pay if you bought one ?
Perhaps the club could post a couple of thousand free season tickets through the doors of the local population ? Then you would have crowds of 3,000.
It all seems like borderline skulduggery to me. I suppose a bit of adjusting is inevitable but last night's crowd was bumped up by at least 50% , probably more.

Great second-half performance from our lads and I'm still scratching my head as to how we haven't won the game as we murdered them in that second 45. The Wishart-Bolarinwa combination really is devastating down the left - Dos was really singing their praises in his post-match interview. I felt for Fitchett a bit last night as he was trying so hard to score but it just wasn't falling for him also hitting the bar with a great header.
A draw probably isn't the worst result against second-place Oxford who were made to look very ordinary by us in the second half but based on our performance in the second half I think it's two points dropped - we really need to start converting these draws into wins.
We're now just four points off the play-offs so we look good to meet Dos' aim of getting in there by December.

Thanks Stewart.Looking back through older threads i think the figure may well be 7. The people most likely to buy the season ticket are those who know they will only want to go to a few games.Of course they can always lend the ticket to a friend who will then save themselves £12 that would otherwise go to the club.

Even if attendance figures are inflated because of non-attending season-ticket holders, they may help the cause in attracting more lucrative sponsorship deals.
If you bought a season ticket as a Supporters Club member for £75, as I did, then you should already be saving if you have attended all seven league games so far (7 x £12 = £84).
What was Simon Downer thinking of when he got his yellow card yesterday? He was very late with his tackle - if late is the right word.

.....I suppose there are a few like me who bought a season ticket knowing full well they would only attend 6/8 matches during the season, due to distance involved. Why you might ask, I suppose a small contribution to the club and secondly to help DOS towards his target of some 600/800 season ticket holders.
