As the article suggests we continue to look for a site to develop to have our own home ground back in the Sutton Borough and the controversial Rosehill site has come up again for debate.
It was a site that we showed interest in several times before, as it has a full sized all weather pitch that the council has let become run down and unusable.
The council without our knowledge (after various discussions) decided that it would be an ideal site to house a secondary school and that was that.
Recently the Council has had a u-turn on the school decision and as we speak no plans have been made for the old pitch, so we are putting ourselves back in the frame of interested parties.
I'm sure the Council will change their mind again and it will become a school so nothing will come of it and our search for a suitable home ground (of our low playing standard) will continue.

I'm guessing that is what used to be known as Rosehill recreation ground and has gradually been encroached upon at the Rosehill end. Many years back it was full of football pitches in regular use and someone told me it was originally a refuse tip.

That's right. One of my team mates cut his knee open on a can lid that worked its way to the surface, about 4" of skin opened up like a flap to his kneecap. 2 hours at Epsom Hospital for a tetanus jab!

Yes your spot on. Back when we were only a Sunday Club we used to play home matches at Rosehill for a few seasons.
