Looking ahead to Monday's match, surprised to see Lowestoft slip to a heavy 4-1 defeat today as they were until today the 'form' team in the conference north, looking forward to this one, always good to play someone different & ive just read their keeper has just been recalled by Norwich city .. So may be a bit vulnerable in that department !! Come on you u's !!!

Likewise Clive, I'm also looking forward to the Lowestoft game on Monday. We should be fresh for it at least seeing as we haven't played since Boxing Day! Hoping for a win against them to set us up for Curzon in the next round!

I know I sound boring but it would be great if a few people come and join in with me and the other 4 lads singing behind the goal at the GGL End. The effect good support has on a team is huge, it could well be the difference between winning and losing on the night

Lowestoft Town are currently second-bottom of the NLP Fair Play table, having accumulated five red cards and 48 yellows this season. Let's hope we have a decent ref for this game. The only side with a worse disciplinary record is Tilbury (seven reds, 50 yellows).

I'm less surprised bearing in mind their away form in the last 8 games is W2 D1 L5 and have shipped more goals in those 8 away games that any other side in the North division. Let's do the job and put it to bed. We don't want a trip to Lowestoft next Tuesday with the games piling up a little now. At least with the downpour we had in Sutton today we have no worries about the game, which could have been under threat otherwise. Oh and keep singing Johnnie - just never, ever, expect me to join in to the "You're my Paul Doswell" song. Ever. (nothing to do with Dos, just my utter hatred of Oasis)

Decent crowd for the first day back at work after Christmas.
Dundo was fantastic and should have had another!
Fleetwood is really struggling badly at the minute. He could do with one going in off the knee.. I hope it clicks soon for him!
Well done Dos and the boys!!

Yep agreed not at our best but comfortable. A good sign. Onwards we go and an excellent chance to get into the interesting stage.

I agree that this was a fairly comfortable victory. Dos started with the two big men up front again and it worked a treat. Dundo's first two goals were bundled in from close range, his third drilled home on the break from the edge of the area. Lowestoft did briefly make it 1-1, the returning Bradley Woods-Garness playing a part in their goal, but otherwise the few shots they had were mostly off-target and Ross Worner had one of his easier matches between the Sutton sticks.
It was hardly a surprise that Dundo won MotM, but I thought Ross Stearn also had a very good game.
And so, having been two matches behind in the Trophy, we've now caught up. If we'd still had the old pitch at GGL it's doubtful whether this game would have gone ahead tonight. The 3G is now starting to prove its worth, and with us now at home on the next three Saturdays - including the next Trophy tie v Curzon Ashton - we should avoid falling too far behind with our fixtures.
