Your views and comments on this match. Games we should win, are sometimes the toughest Louie Theophanous 13 goals in 28 matches is the man to watch!

St Albans are currently bottom of the form table for away games, having not won away since Sep 5th at Margate.
In previous years I'd be more concerned about our approach to this game but as I think this squad is the most professional i've seen recently and how we've grown into that from the early season I think we can, and should win.
But hey we know we take nothing for granted.

We are in good form at home now, despite performances being a little off in the last two, but only one of three consecutive wins we've picked up have been in the league. If we want to prove our playoff credentials (and, who knows, title credentials!) we will need to start winning back to back home league games which is something that really surprises me to say we haven't achieved yet this season, tomorrow that will change!

Absolutely outstanding stuff. One of the best performances I can recall. Dos has the boys playing some really scintillating stuff. The passing was incisive and devastating. In particular, the pass from Bolarinwa to Fitch for the first goal was as good as you will ever see at this level.
I'm gutted for Fleetwood that he was adjudged offside. It was a great run and a smart finish. Well done to Tommy Wright as well with a clinical finish.
Plaudits must go to Fitchett though. His best performance in a Sutton shirt that I've witnessed.
Dos has them playing in a really attractive way. I am so pleased my prediction of a 900+ gate came true.
Bring on Curzon!

Stunning! St Albans certainly were not the worst side I've seen this season, and credit to them that they kept trying, but also huge credit to Ross in goal who thanks to a number of great saves especially in the first half gave the freedom to the team to play lovely attacking football from the off.
Totally agree with Northern monkey on all points. We've really hit our stride and to those saying a few weeks back that we need a proven goalscorer, the news is that we've scored more league goals than any other team and our goal difference is now joint top with Ebbsfleet, who could only manage a home 0-0 with Truro. We're 12 points behind with a game in hand. And 6 points behind 2nd place Maidstone with 2 games in hand.
This victory has been coming in the last few weeks. Let's keep the momentum going!

Truly excellent stuff, could have even had more. St Albans genuinely didn't look that bad in the first half and missed a few chances at 1-0. Once the second goal went in we turned the screw and the second half was completely one sided. I reckon that was probably the best performance I've seen since I started watching Sutton in 11-12, we just looked like scoring every time we went forward. Also was nice to have everyone together under the GGL end in the second half - hopefully it rains more often

I'm glad others felt the same towards St Albans they weren't a bad side at all. Had a clear gameplan but we just took them to the cleaners today.
Fleets movement and finish was classy. Shame it was offside but all in all a very clinical afternoon's work.
Onwards and upwards.

Well that was deeply enjoyable! I think it's safe to say that the players have got used to playing on the surface now! There's a confidence and belief throughout the team that makes me think we're nailed on for a play-off spot, at least. Fleets just can't catch a break, though - that offside must have been pretty marginal.

On a cold, wet & windy afternoon it was just the tonic to see Sutton win 5-0. St Albans were a gutsy team and weren't afraid to pile bodies forward in an attempt to breach our defence. Excellent hat trick for Fitch with one each for Stearn & Wright, which was his first league goal for us i believe. Fleets was unlucky to be offside for a disallowed goal after a good run. Starting to close the gap on Ebbsfleet & now on to to SSC & Trophy matches. I wonder what sort of team we will put out against Casuals.

Can't say much that hasn't already been said, I thought we were superb but for a few patches after going 1-0 up when they looked likely to get a goal on the break. St Albans certainly weren't terrible and I thought gave us good reason to play at a high tempo with their physicality (partly helped by a referee that seemed content to allow nearly everything). Having said that St Albans could consider themselves lucky to only concede 5 and their defence did seem to struggle with us on all fronts barring our crossing which I felt overall today was not it's best with Wishart slipping a lot and so finding it difficult to deliver good balls in and Bolarinwa being his usual self in that department (if only he could cross like he played Fitchett in for the first!). Couldn't believe that Fleetwood was given offside, poor guy must be wondering what he's being punished for. Really enjoyed seeing Tommy Wright's goal and reaction to it, first of many to come let's hope!

Good win. Thought Tom B was just too much for them. Beautifully created the first and then set up the killer second which finished them off. Whilst they threw men forward it played into our hands a little and you can see why they are struggling. We were a bit off defensively first 20-30 but rest of the game not a foot wrong. A good afternoon for us. Good to see plenty in the ground too, prob over 700 actual bodies which bodes well. Hopefully all bar the Saints fans will be back next week for a biggish cup tie, plus a few more besides. That sort of attacking performance and scoreline can certainly start to help in our quest to put a few more on the gate. Well done to Fitch too, a hard worker who has really earned those goals, seems to have just kept his head down when out of the side. We're going to need all of this squad over the next few months and the bench really is strong.

No Manager of the Month curse in sight I came to this thread to mention a few things, but Andy K has said all of them already (we have known each other too long) except my comment about how the pitch really does play beautifully when it's wet.

It was a superb performance from the team. Maybe man of the match could have gone to Ross in goal. He performance was near perfection.
