Interesting. Can't imagine if he is fit enough that a space in the squad could not be found. He is only 31 but has had injury issues in recent times, hence having to drop down the levels to find a club. No reason though why he can't have another good 3/4 years if the hunger is there and the body allows. Guess Dos playing down expectations more than anything and of course Nicky has to want to come.

I think your first point is the valid one - is there a space for him in a squad that is performing so well... Eastmond and Gomis have been excellent in the centre, would Bailey's arrival upset that apple cart?

Sure and of course Dundo has played there a bit and Cooper has kept Gomis out the side as well. Certainly not short at the moment. Obviously for Dos and the management to work out along with Nicky.

Dos seems pretty adept at dealing with relatively high numbers of players going in and out, but we have no real need for him on the pitch at the moment. He's going to have a ton of experience now, however, and it would be great if he was able to return to the club and share it with the squad. If he is primarily trying to keep himself fit then he may wish to stay training with us beyond the expiration of his contract. I'd like to see him on the bench, for sure, and maybe it will work out for both him and the club.

We aren't but you never know when an injury or two could come along (fingers crossed they don't..). I'd take him in an instant given his experience and quality that we know about of course. If he were to join that would take us onto 19 players (haven't included Shaq and John who are on loan).

I wish him well.

Any news? We might well hear something in the week, I'm hoping we sign him on a deal until the end of the season.

To be fair Andy the posts were from yesterday and the website wasn't updated until this afternoon. Great news though.

Isn't it odd. There was a thread about a month ago regarding signing players.Someone said ,what was the point of the thread as Dos had clearly stated he wasn't going to sign anyone .
Well he has and welcome back Nicky Bailey. You never know what's around the corner in football !

I still think that's true but something found us. Still I'm sure you can put that into your "revolving door" phrase that you use every time there's a squad change

Urgh Eastleigh! I was more commenting on your use of it rather than where it came from.... Anyway welcome back Nicky. You're going to have your work cut out to get into our side but hope this works for us and you. Just imagine it's 2004 again....
