Yep, just off the blower to Dos and yes, he is delighted to have signed Nicky Bailey until the end of the season. More to follow.

Welcome back Nicky. Great news. An even stronger squad for the run in. Happy days

Welcome home Nicky! It's good to see you back at the mighty Sutton United!

Great signing. No matter who we have currently and how well they are playing this must improve our squad. Of course Nicky could probably play a few roles at this level. I expect him to begin with a few bench appearances plus starting the Surrey Senior and then to go from there. Having said that even the bench has been incredibly strong in recent games.

Difficult decision for Dos when it comes to slotting a high-profile signing into a winning side. When Nicky started with us he was a box-to-box midfield player, but in his later league career I think he played mostly as a holding midfielder, often at the base of a diamond. If he has a similar role at Sutton then the player most at risk of losing his starting place would seem to be Craig Eastmond. But Craig has been playing very well for us lately and it's hard to see him being dropped. Maybe Craig E would be moved into more of an attacking midfield role.
I do agree with Gareth L that we're likely to see Nicky on the bench at first (especially if he needs to regain match fitness), perhaps being brought on for the last twenty to bolster the midfield if we're defending a lead.

AA the main reason we are on this great run is because of Craig Eastmond. He runs the midfield and in my mind is our player of the year so far. I would be very very surprised if he was dropped.

I would not move Craig for anybody right now. Nicky can play at a higher level than conference south but so can Craig. Fitting Nicky in will be tricky but at the moment, I trust Dos not to upset any apple carts.

It is kind of worrying (or would be if we didn't have a manager we can trust) that we've picked up such a high profile signing at a time when we are on a really excellent winning streak, the team is working together beautifully and we have no injury concerns, disciplinary problems or (as far as we fans know) other player related issues. A winning team is a finely balanced system.
If that's our biggest problem though...we are in a very good place!

Craig Eastmond is first name on the teamsheet for me. No way Bailey will get in ahead of him in my eyes.
Great back-up for injuries however!

I'm looking forward to seeing him play again & how he will fit into the squad. We have lots of good midfield players at present but we have to play a fair amount of games before the end of the season. You can only name 5 players on the bench so someone will be disappointed.
