OK Margate have a number of familiar faces including Sam Rents and Jamie Stuart. One familiar face we won't be seeing is Jamie Taylor who's been on loan at Eastbourne, and today made that switch permanent.
It's 2nd v 3rd in the form table - game on!

Somewhat surprised Jamie Stuart is still playing at this level but anyway, really looking forward to the game tomorrow we need to start putting results (specifically wins) together again and each game is another opportunity to do that. It may be an important result too as it would make their chance of a playoff place pretty slim with everyone around them having at least 1 game in hand (in our case 3 but 4 for Truro who are on the same number of points as Margate) so it's a game they will know they need to get something from too, a win would be a good step towards securing our own playoff place as well.
I find it bizarre in a way that we have made it to the end of February and are only playing them for the first time this season, am I forgetting a rearrangement?

I doubt if Jamie Stuart is playing for Margate these days: his role is first-team coach. The fact that this is our first encounter with Margate this season is just a quirk of the league fixture list; we were always due to play Havant, Concord and Maidenhead twice before Christmas (which we did) and St Albans, Chelmsford and Margate twice after New Year (which we're doing).

My dad and uncle were at the game. Will find out how we played during the Frampton Quigg bill. I expect rave reviews Sounds like a cracking day for us. Maidstone lost and Ebbsfleet drew and had 2 off i think. Maidstone had a man off to i think.

You know when people say 'it could have been 6 today'...it was true today with a fitch missed penalty and Gomis missing from 3 yards out mark Watson style. Didn't matter in the end with our most accomplished performance in recent weeks. Superb across the park. Odd end with their no8 grabbing one of the officials by the throat and getting a red after the final whistle.
Maidstone 1 up on 90 mins, player sent off and letting in 2 late goals to lose, ebbsfleet drawing at home in a match where 4 players were sent off, Basingstoke squandering a big lead to draw 4 all with wealdstone and st Albans demolishing whitehawk 6 0 it was an odd day all round. But at the end of it we're 2nd 10 points and twould games behind the leaders. That's what matters

Fantastic, fantastic performance today!
I thought Bolarinwa was superb and a definite MOTM for me, although from 1-11 (and all the subs!), they all mucked in and it was a fantastic team effort.
A great variety of goals too. Entertaining to watch!
Not quite sure why Margate's number 8 felt it appropriate to grab a match official by the throat, but I think a lengthy ban could be in order for this particular piece of violent conduct.
All in all, a great day, made even greater by results elsewhere!
Well played to Dos and the boys!

Craig Eastmond was my man of the match.Thought he was superb today as were the rest of the team but to be fair they didn't really start to play until the first goal went in. Those games in hand can't come soon enough.

I thought the new lad Ryan B was supurb today and could have been MOM. Three different opioid.

Shout out for Ryan Burge. Thought he had an excellent debut. Very tidy and nicked himself a debut goal to boot. Looking forward to seeing a lot more of him and when he gets some games under his belt that cultured left foot could play a decisive role as we head for the tape. Well done fella.

As Delboy said we were not that great until the first goal. Once it went in we were superb for the remainder of the game. Burge played well, unfortunately he did get in the space of his team mates at times Maybe trying too hard. He will certainly get better in the coming weeks. You look at each Sutton player on the pitch today and each player looks special. This squad is looking good

Until we scored, I thought the whole place and afternoon was a bit flat. the match had been littered with free-kicks and Margate were quick to press the ball denying U's any space. Then from one such free-kick, Ryan Burge curled a left footer in and Fitch's run did enough to put the 'keeper off and he helped the ball into the net.
Tom B then got around their left back and was hauled down. The 'keeper atoned for his early error with a fine save but just minutes later his poor clearance fell to Tom B, who, a fully 45 yards out, took a touch and then swerved a brilliant strike into the unguarded net.
By now 'Gate's discipline had faltered alarmingly and their skip probably should have gone when he kicked the ball at the grounded Ross Stearn after he had been crudely brought down. By the end of the half the visitors had picked up four yellows.
Second half the left back made a rather clumsy and unwise challenge on Tom B and this time Bedsente Gomis converted the spot kick. Tom B again making the left back look like a nag in apedigree horse race crossing for Fitch to sweep home.
Game over and the rest of the match was pretty pointless. 'Gate hit the post with a fine curled effort and the 'keeper deflected Fitch's effort wide before Jolley scored a late consolation.
At the final whistle, their no 8 decided to go toe to with the lino (one of our very own Admin's mates) and though I saw no physical contact the aggressive nature warranted a red card. Misconduct maybe forthcoming should the ref report the dismissed player's reluctance to leave the field. He had to be restrained from going back for seconds and took a bloody age to be dragged off. God knows what that was all about but summed up Margate's poor discipline through much of the match.
A solid performance against in form opponents who left the foot in when necessary and made flowing football difficult. Good debut for Ryan Burge joining that band of players who scored on their first outing. Solid at the back too. Two goals from 'keeping errors, although Tom B had bloody awful lot to do to profit from the second mistake.
With Ebbsfleet reduced to 9 men in their 0-0 draw and Maidstone to ten as they conceded two late goals at H&W a good day for Sutton tempered perhaps by "what might of mean" as Bognor reached the last four of the CT. Boy, have they got a fixture problem now. min 18 matches to play and the Ryman title more than a possibility for them.

Thoroughly good performance. Took a while to get going as others have said but after the 2nd goal it became very easy. New guy looked decent, caught a couple of times early but am sure will prove a quality addition and will get better once he plays a couple. Eastmond completely controlled the game after we got our noses in front and showed his ability. Picked up everything in front of the back 4. And when you have Tom B on the pitch you always have a chance if you're defending well - earned 2 pens, scored, set 1 up. Fantastic wide play and when you have that effect on the goals going in the net IMO MOM a no brainer. Performances like this surely put him and Eastmond right in the shop window! Margate - not good. 8 should have been sent off first half for effing in the ref's face pretty aggressively, again IMO. Showed himself to be the utter terrible human being that he is at the end. Their foul count went off the scale after they went a couple down. Poor from them generally, expected better.
