..........With Fleet dropping points opening the door to Sutton & Maidstone to finish in top spot, we all know points on the board, are better than games in hand. With Sutton playing with confidence and the addition of two new players to strengthen the squad perhaps the door is a little more ajar than a month ago.

They had a very interesting win against Whitehawk last Saturday. My first thoughts were that the Whitehawk players were very unhappy at the sacking of Harry Enfield and had stopped playing for the new manager.Either that or stale buns have hit form !

Whitehawk were down to 10 men after 20min, although they were already 1 goal down, but to capitulate so badly probably is a sign of the disarray that's been down there for weeks. Add to that that St Albans do have a manager there who's won promotion from this level combined to make it a very one sided affair. I certainly can't see this game being as easy as the home tie - St Albans play better at home. I'd take a 1-0 win any day of the week from our most expensive game of the season!
Funny how playing a team at a certain point of the season affects the scoreline. When St Albans went to Whitehawk in October they lost 6-0!

Yellow warning of ice overnight, heavy rain forecast from 6am till pretty much the end of the game and a strong cold northernly wind. Even if the match is on (hopefully it is), then it's going to be unpredictable as Hemel

Probable squad of 16 for tomorrow: Worner, Amankwaah, Downer, Beckwith, Spence, Cooper, Eastmond, Gomis, Dundas, Bailey, Stearn, Bolarinwa, Burge, Fitchett, Slabber, Fleetwood.
Absentees: McCallister and Collins (injured), Wishart (suspended), Wright (dual-reg at Staines), John.

That must be our best squad for over a quarter of a century.

That must be our best squad for over a quarter of a century. Certainly the best squad I've known since I started supporting Sutton back in 1999.

You should have seen the 1998 squad... Talking to Bruce t'other day and he says the 1898 squad was the best.
