I see from Stewart's post in the media section: Daryl McMahon "I think it is firmly in Sutton's hands but to be honest the pressure is on them now. We are still top. They have to go and win the games to make the points up. I am sure they will fancy doing that but they have to go and do it. It is the first time that we are not in control to win the league and the pressure is firmly on Sutton." www.newsshopper.co.uk/sport/14389449.Dartford_draw_means_title_fate_is_no_longer_in_our_hands__admits_Ebbsfleet_boss/And from narcky comments we have been receiving via twitter, that the bums are well and truely squeaking up estuary way. Its interesting, but who's hands is the league in? I think 4/1 for Maidstone is a cracking bet

At this stage it's no one's to lose, though perhaps you could say that some time ago it looked as though that was the case for Ebbsfleet, or indeed very nearly so. We are the team that can pick up the most points now so in that regard we are favourites. Maidstone have the easier run in so in that regard they are favourites. Ebbsfleet have the most points now so in that regard they are the favourites.

When you see a lead that Ebbsfleet had shortened and possibly overtaken and considering they've reinforced over the season outbidding a league two club for McLean and still haven't overcome their wobbles i believe the pressure is still on them.
Dos gives me the impression he's excited by this challenge and is relishing the run in and the games vs our rivals. He's a made man he's in the game for these moments imo. The other guys are making their way in the game etc.
Also the fact he's making big decisions and thank the Lord have come off in a big way recently i think he's showing alot of smarts and understanding of situation.
I can't comment on Maidstone but that was a heavy defeat yesterday and will be interesting to see their reaction.
We reacted to adversity like you'd expect a title winning should do.
We shall see but i'm confident.

St Albans away next time out, who have only lost to ourselves in the last 8. Obviously the massive game next Tuesday aside, they still have a home tie against a rejuvenated Dartford and difficult trips to Truro and Whitehawk. It'd be a brave man who would predict them getting the requisite number of points with those games to play...

Long way to go and am sure all 3 sides will drop points. Should be fun. Surprised we haven't had news re the Maidstone game being all ticket seeing as they got 2,500 for the Hemel game and the stadium only holds around 3,000 I thought! At the very least surely segregation should be in play.

Maidstone also have a number of injuries and apparently had to play an Academy player at Chelmo, If we win at Maidstone next week I expect them to be out of the equation.

Reading the Ebbsfleet forum over recent weeks i have come to the conclusion that they are just not playing well enough to take the title.I believe Maidstone are our biggest threat but they have the toughest run in and have already lost twice as many games as us this season.

that smells like a man who is under a lot of pressure and is trying to deflect.

I always think it really doesn't matter what managers say to the press. It's what happens on the pitch that matters and in this situation would you rather have McMahon or Dos leading your team. No brainer really....

I'm pretty confident that McMahon is feeling under more pressure than Dos. Ebbsfleet have had a solid lead since the autumn, and there will have been expectations at the club that they'd cruise to the title. With that lead whittled down and threatened by games in hand, those expectations are now looking rather shaky. For Sutton, the play-offs have been the target for most of the season and anything higher has, until just recently, been no more than a distant prospect. Finishing 2nd or 3rd wouldn't feel like failure to us, but it would for them.
I expect our game against Ebbsfleet to be more decisive than the one against Maidstone.

There's a history of teams at our level having to endure the evaporation of healthy leads (including us in 97/98!) and it wouldn't surprise me at all if Ebbsfleet were to finish third. In situations where there's so much on the line, it's very difficult psychologically to stem the tide once things have been going a bit pear-shaped.

Both Maidstone and us need to concentrate on securing playoff places on Saturday, we would both have secured our places with wins on Saturday, however we now have a 2nd chance to make sure.
Then we can let the battle commence, however Chelmsford could have a telling say on who ultimately takes top spot, having beaten Maidstone, they still have to face both us and Ebbsfleet, who have not won against Chelmsford in any of their national south meetings.
