Does anybody know whether all of our home games will be segregated this season? I am just curious. Also is there any news on the new segregation fence that is being placed by the parkside terrace and collingwood rec end where the old gate was previously.

I think the National League requires all home league games to be segregated

I'd be surprised if that was the case.

I'd be surprised if that was the case. It would be crazy to segregate our 1st home game, but if that is the rules.....

Woking and Bromley rarely segregated last season This statement is totally incorrect, I watched all of Bromleys home highlights and they pretty much segregated 99% of their home games. Not sure about Woking. I went to Woking 0-0 Boreham Wood and they had segregation and borehamwood brang around 50 fans.

Out of interest, how do you tell from highlights if a game is segregated? If you looked at the film of our game against Ebbsfleet, it would look as though there was segragation, but there wasn't.

At Hayes Lane behind one goal there is a metal fence seperating the away fans and the Bromley fans. There is a gap of around 15m between the sets of fans and stewards.

Looking on Boreham Wood's website there's an archived news item from September last year that indicates that, after taking advice, it was purely their choice to segregate.
www.borehamwoodfootballclub.co.uk/segregation-back-in-place-for-saturdays-fixture/
And they only averaged just over 500, so it probably makes sense for our games to be segregated. Besides, I think it'll give more of a feeling of "We've arrived in the big time!"

I went to three National League games last season, Grimsby v Torquay, Tranmere v Bromley and Guiseley v Eastleigh. The first two of those were segregated, the third was not.

I was going on quotes from Bromley fans on onefootballforum.co.uk where there is an extensive and long running thread on away attendances. Bromley operate full segregation, soft segregation (which allows them to drop it if isn't needed) and no segregation. In the National League plenty of grounds will have segregation as the automatic setting, because they're ex-league grounds and that's how they are designed. Among the traditional non-league grounds segregation is applied as and when it's needed. Kind of like it was at Gander Green Lane last time we were at this level

One of the best things about non league football is that you can chat with opposing fans.In most games at this level it simply isn't needed and i remember watching the 20 Bromley fans on the TV at Eastleigh & thinking how stupid it was to segregate them. They didn't do it at NS level so why do it now.

It's the delusion among some clubs at this level that they are mini-Football League clubs. Especially Eastleigh. Personally I don't mind segregation, especially at away games (helps the atmosphere IMO) but there will be many instances this coming season where it just won't be needed, and I trust the club to know when they are
