Although this doesn't feel right, a bit like discussing the inheritance at the funeral, but one name not mentioned is Chris Kinnear, he did a great job at Dover apart from one dodgy season, he kept them challenging for the playoffs. Dos has spent 11 years work turning our club around, everything was flat as a fart when he came in, it was his energy that lifted us from Ryman to be within one match of FL status. Its now time for our board to step up to the challenge, we don't want to see a similar decline as we witnessed after the great Barrie Williams left. I would be beyond disappointed if we appointed Kinnear. Only plays one way and it’s not something I’d like to watch. We would have to plant Tommy Wright and Dylan Kearney in MiracleGro this evening to add at least a foot over the close season if he were ever to play them up front.
No thanks!

One could say that the decline was because the Sutton board at the time stuck "with their own" and went back to Keith Blunt. I'm sure the board will look further afield than that, but there was a collective shudder when a few of us spotted Ian Hazel at the game today! I'm so convinced that Kinnear isn't even in the running, I'm willing to bet you £100!

Bruce has given SUFCtv an interview today which will go live tomorrow, I have not seen it yet so I am not privy to what he says, but you can guess the type of questions that were asked. It seems rather apt that we would go to a rather flat 3-0 defeat the game after Dos resigns as we did the match before he arrived. All focus is now on the board, they now have the batten, and have to make what could be a defining decision in the clubs history. Will we build on the Dos legacy or will we regress? 10th again next season in itself would be a great achievement from where I look now.

The one thing I wouldn't like (and doubt the club would do anyway) is to appoint a 'celebrity' manager. As in Sol Campbell at Macclesfield, Sven Goran Erikson with Notts County or even John Terry at Villa. OK, I know he is only assistant manager and we all have to start somewhere but I love the ethos Sutton have instilled.

He’s done a great job at the avenue of the damned, could be worth a shout A sure fire way to guarantee national south football for 20/21 season would be to appoint an isthmian level manager. There's a reason you rarely see premier league clubs dipping into league 1 for their managers and it's no different at our level. Someone from that division simply won't have the contacts and technical / tactical ability to make that step up so quickly. We need someone with experience at this level or above and there will be no shortage of options. Hopefully the board manage to choose the right one

I am sure DOS would have had an input into who was the best man to succeed him, and how to finance him should the need arise!!

I am sure DOS would have had an input into who was the best man to succeed him, and how to finance him should the need arise!! Do you think so? In most other forms of employment asking someone who has resigned about who would be best person to replace them would seem a little strange. But, maybe. I assume that the new manager and the board will be very keen that he be his own man and do things his way, not come into this trying to be Dos-by-other-means. I'm pretty sure he'll need paying.

Ferguson did it. Also seems that he is still pulling the strings at a certain other United.

With regards Ian Hazel I think he is working as a scout and at this time of year with players on the move he would be doing his job

Ferguson did it. Also seems that he is still pulling the strings at a certain other United. True enough. But that didn't really work out too well. Also, he had done 26 years as boss, not 11. Dunno if these dynastic style things work that well, in football, generally... I think the Dos era will be very hard to follow, but I think a clear, change over, line might be best.

To follow Dos will be a nigh on impossible task. Obviously I hope whoever comes in can do it and I'll back them to the hilt.
