His 3 to 4 year break was related to Sutton United. He said you never know that he could be back here in some capacity in that time. He said he would be back in football as he is a football nut. The journey time is a lot shorter for him as well. He wanted somewhere about 30 min away and it's no surprise that Havant came looking as he has a great managerial record in non league.

And what players will follow him to Havant?

Erm he said maybe back at Sutton in 3 or 4 years. Not back in football, actually even said would be back soon.
Also I think an hour and a half per day instead of four and a half is actually quite a bit of time out of a normal day.

And what players will follow him to Havant? I'm hoping Dos has too much respect and consideration for Sutton as a club to steal our players. What I might expect, however, is for him to enquire about taking Tommy on loan at the start of the new season to help get him fully fit.

And what players will follow him to Havant? Why would they ? Just because Dos has gone there, also the new manager will want too keep the best players.

Dos will take players from us. The same way as he did from Eastleigh when he was our manager. That's reality. The only one who could influence who will be our new manager whoever that may be.
We just need to hold tight and not panic.

He did bring quite a few ex Eastleigh players when he came to us, but that was different. He's left Sutton on better terms, and after saying all he has about being a Sutton fan now he surely won't want to decimate our squad! Having said that, a lot of our players stayed because they liked playing for him. Remember they get a say in the matter too. Some won't want to drop a level but others might quite like the idea of being a big fish in a small pond.

Aldershot and Maidstone are big fishes in that pond. Billericay are an expensive fish. Yeah I’d be very disappointed to see Dos come and raid us for players, if he’s a Sutton fan he wouldn’t leave us looking at relegation in June/July.

I don't mean Havant as such, I mean a player who's proven himself at National level might fancy the idea of doing even better (on a personal level) against weaker opposition but that won't be everyone's cup of tea. Many would prefer to play against the bigger boys especially if they have Football League ambitions.

I'm sure Dos will try to do the right thing by us as long as that doesn't conflict with doing the best for Havant, which is his new job.
There are always a large number of variables concering which players stay or go, in between seasons. This is just one more. Not an inconsiderable one but still one among many.
We may feel easier about this when we can start thinking about what our new manager will want to do, rather than thinking about what another club's new manager might want to do.

Shame it is Havant as I can't stand them as a club but it is no real surprise.
I get the feeling he felt he took Sutton as far as he could and he realised that the EFL aren't going to change their stance on 3G pitches. As a club if we really want to progress onto the next level at some point we need to address that issue in the long run.
It will be interesting to see what happens should Harrogate win the play offs this season however.

Am I right in thinking that clubs that do not currently have 3G and convert will not be allowed into the National league? If not I suspect Havant will be on 3G soon.

To add to this, I'd be more worried about our better players moving sideways as there could be less incentive to stay here now the charismatic Dos isn't here. This is why getting the right manager is so important. I think that will have more impact on our squad that players following Dos to Havant in the division below.
