I thought Deano was going to retire but if some team is willing to pay him to be injured then good luck to them. Be interesting to see how often he plays.

They could have worded it better! Their tweet says "The Hawks are pleased to announce Dean Beckwith as our first summer signing from Banjo.".
...the wording does rather suggest there are more to follow. Provided it's mutually agreeable between the parties then I can't see any problem with this.

I thought Deano was going to retire but if some team is willing to pay him to be injured then good luck to them. Be interesting to see how often he plays. Deano is good for weekly football if managed properly, it's when those runs of sat Tue sat happen that his hamstring gives way. Dos will know that and he's definitely got a few more seasons at the slightly slower less physical pace of the nat south. He did a great job for us this season when called on and not having too many games demanded of him, and I've been one of his bigger critics generally speaking. As for who else will follow, well frankly I Havant a clue (couldn't resist). Jokes aside probably Ross, there's no shortage of excellent goalkeepers at our level and as said there will not be many south teams available so dropping down one level with some familiar faces will not be a bad move. What a steal for them, still think he's the better of the two not that it matters now

I'm pleased in a way for Deano. I thought he'd lost a bit at our level over the season. It didn't work with Jamie like it used to.

Not to cause any idle speculation and of course taking what Dos said on face value, it's going to be interesting to track who will turn up at Havant in the next couple of months. If Dos approaches his new role like he did when he arrived with us (I lost count of how many Eastleigh players turned up for us), then it's likely that a fair number of Sutton connections will be plying their trade at Westleigh Park next season. Seems like Havant have made their 3rd Sutton connected signing (after Dos and Bairdy), and again this is on the running of the club side - www.havantandwaterloovillefc.co.uk/articles/2019/05/03/hawks-appoint-new-commercial-manager.htmlHavant are also making a signing announcement at 4pm today. He's got 9 players from us off the bat to pick from (the out of contract ones and the 5 on the transfer list). Andy, there was a 3rd ex U's man who went to Sutton with Dos and Bairdy. Almost as a throw away line in the Dos interview at Havant he said our Statto, Scott Munro would move as well.

Scott comes from the area. I think he may even be related to Dos. Nephew?

Scott comes from the area. I think he may even be related to Dos. Nephew? Scott played for us in SSC, great lad, son of Dos' business partner, Stuart Munro. Stuart, I think, was Chairman of Otterbourne FC which is where Scott, Tommy Wright and Sam Doswell (nephew of Dos) played. Sam played for us also in SSC and scored. Otterbourne 'morphed' into Alresford FC and Stuart Munro is/was Chairman there.

Cheers Millsy. I knew there was some link between the Doswell and Munro clans albeit not blood as I thought.
Was aware that he played for us in SSC.
