Any chance of arranging an alternative fixture for this date... I imagine the two clubs had already looked into that. We have a free Tuesday on July 30th, but Redhill already have a friendly lined up for that date. Shame really - I had it pencilled in to go to as well. |

I've just spoken to Matt, he is not looking for alternative opposition for that Saturday. It would only have been 45 minute run-outs for the squad anyway so instead they will have a full training session.
We may arrange something with Redhill later in the season.

That seems light, how many have we had in the recent seasons?

Last season was 5 according to the official website, 6 the season before that and 7 in the season before that..

So we're just going with 5 friendlies, not including the SCR game against the academy. If we stick with 5 friendlies I can see us going into the new season pretty undercooked given we’ve got such a threadbare squad. I presume a fair few new signings are on the way post-July 1st but they’ll need game time for cohesion with existing members of the squad. |
