Can anyone come up with two managers who were appointed by SUFC to great euphoria (thanks Spill Chucker), but who left us for new pastures after approximately 1 month, and in each case who stepped in to fill the void? If anybody (Mark) comes up with an example from before the dawn of time I won't be happy (although I will be impressed)

Dario Gradi (but was there for about 2 months) 76/7 - Roy Osborne took over and then Alan Pentecost.

Other than that the only one would be Ernie Howe but he was there for about five months. Not sure Ernie was met with euphoria though.

Not sure where to put this but "Managers" thread seems as good as any.I'm still in regular contact with four of the lads in this photo taken around 1964.I was at The Oval just a few weeks back with two of them. John Rains is bottom right.He is never far from our thoughts and conversations.  |
