I must be one of the only fans who didn't see the game (car broke down on the way there) . What happened with the penalty? Hear Eastmond handball on the line, sent off then a whole bunch of yellow cards. Brilliant one handed reflex save from Craig on the line with Butler well beaten.

Eastmond stopped goal on the line. Their player scored penalty but feigned injury when tussling for ball with Butler. Bolawinra shortly after for late tackle and Adiboye for dissent.

Not a lot to excite the BT Sport audience, at least until the late drama that saw Craig Eastmond dismissed for preventing a goal with his hand. This was a game between two bottom-third sides, so no surprise that it was short on quality. Wrexham seem to have lost their way this season, with most of their goal attempts today off-target, while our limited ambition was again shown in the deployment of Jarvis as a lone striker.
Harry's goal was a bright spot, and Jon Barden's Man of the Match award was well deserved. Eastmond's late intervention stopped a certain equaliser which then arrived from the penalty spot. A point is a better return for us than for the home team, but that's now six games without a win for us.
Our record at the Racecourse Ground now reads 0-1, 1-1, 0-1, 1-1. Three of those four games have been played in the month of September.

I have held back any opinion as I haven't been to a game since Wrexham at home last season!.
I looked forward to today's game and having watched Matt's initial interviews I knew he would set us up to be hard to beat and that we was. Rarely threatened by Wrexham but rarely threatening ourselves bar the mazy dribble and shot from DA and Collins scramble on the line.
The second half we again got into final third only to go backwards or pass the ball out. Then a move that looked to of slowed down so Easty cut back onto his left foot and lofted a hopeful rather than cultured ball to Kenny Davis who under pressure from two defenders popped it off to Harry who got across the centre halve at the near post and finished well.
I'm sat thinking here we go let's finish the job now, their fans are booing and their manager looked like a man in big trouble. We then proceed to sink deeper and deeper, gifting possession, great chances to counter seeing players make poor passes or going for goal.
The equaliser was predictable imho. Me and my dad sensed that they would salvage something and despite a great finger tip over the bar from Easty the resulting penalty was converted and lead to a tense last few minutes.
That was two points dropped imo. We have a good set of players, we've been at this level long enough. Players hoofing the ball up field rather than dropping it off to Harry, Easty and Kenny and Jamie calling several loose balls in our area only to see players whack it away gives me the impression we are a side low on confidence.
We had a brilliant counter right at the end Tom B on the ball with DA running their last defender into the channel. We had a man far side for the switch all on his own, Bola pings it down the channel and out it goes..
We have footballers in that side across the field we should've been able to take care of the ball. Played on their moans and groans of their fans and exploited spaces they left chasing an equaliser.
It's ok being hard to beat but we also need to be assertive and recognise that the opposition are there to be had. I've read for a while about the long ball tactics but this has been an aspect since two seasons ago imho. Today it wasn't necessarily long ball but more the inability to play around pressure and move the ball up field with combinations like we used to. We get into final third, a few half hearted if not unsure runs, a few check short and the attack slows down.
I really like Barden BTW looks a good player as did young David on the wing who just needs end product at the end of those dribbles.

Well I must say, I had a great day yesterday.
In the morning I set my fastest time to reach the summit of Snowdon and in the evening I saw Sutton take a point at my favourite away ground Wrexham.
Sadly the biggest crowd of the day was at the top of a mountain.

There were more than 3,824 at the top of Snowdon? That is a busy day.
There were about 100 at the peak earlier in the year, on an equally sunny day, when I last climbed it. The following day just 2 of us were at the top of Scafell Pike in the pouring rain. Admittedly the mountain got a little busier an hour or so later when we had to call out mountain rescue, but that's a whole different story (albeit with a happy ending, fortunately).

As this was available for all who were interested to see not going to give a resume of the match as such.
Once more, a lot of negativity on here "limited ambition" and playing one up front for example. Matt G stuck to his guns over the latter away from home and with one of the best c-b in the NL, Pearson and his mate, who looked a decent footballer, I am not sure U's would have got much joy whoever was up there and if he had a partner.
Having the extra midfielder made U's more compact and while Wrexham had a decent spell after the break they rarely looked like scoring. That as an ambition away from home in this league is fine by me. It worked at Hartlepool and no one was moaning then. Not every player in the U's side was on song but neither were they for Wrexham either and that's how football goes.
While it was a bit unfortunate the way their equaliser arrived it was probably the only time that they won good contact from a set piece, although I'd rather see Easty let it go in than miss him next week but natural instinct is a difficult beast to control.
Most of U's threat generally came from wide with a couple of brilliant runs by David A sadly coming to nothing but Harry B's strike was excellent following Kenny D's knock down from Easty's cross.
Jon B was rightly given MotM although I would have had skip and Ben G up there with him from U's point of view.
The ref seemed to be having a decent match. Debate will go on about whether skip's effort had crossed the line befor Pearson cleared but I haven't seen anything conclusive either way. The lino got dogs abuse for that from some and while his overall performance was in keeping with the fare the NL's flagmen tend to offer week in week out, I'm not sure he could have made the call with any real convistion either way. He did as I say make a few other more obvious errors and was often not in line with the last defender.
The ref seemed to lose it after the equaliser. Jamie B was booked but Grant, who hit the penalty really well, was the initial agressor and followed it up with a "Comley" for which he should have been carded and wasn't. Easty was the victim of a late challenge that we didn't even get a f-k for but when Tom B did similar late on he got carded. David A's was a joke considering their guys were allowed to kick the ball away earlier in the game. The usual stuff when you go north.
Wrexham must be concerned by the attendance and I am pretty sure the match being live on BT had an effect.
A previous manager of SUFC used to say any point away in the NL is a good one so not sure what's changed? Needing to back it up home I suspect but then that's obvious to all observers.
Chesterfield next and they will no doubt be buoyed with their first win yesterday. Great timing!

To put things into perspective, as things currently stand we have the 4th most points in the National League from our away games so there should be very little, if any complaint, about our away form. Our home form on the other hand puts us in 23rd.

Not sure why people should be negative about what was a fine and 'proper' away performance. You go away to a Wrexham side desperate for a win, and give them nothing, you sit in you frustrate and you stay compact and solid, Matt got that all spot on.
Jarvis worked hard upfront on his own, and Harry popped up like the text book says to nick the away goal. The only slight gripe I have is surely that last 10-15mins was set up for Jarvis to come off for Tommy. We took a lot of pressure which also lead to the penalty late on, but we didn't maintain a threat going forward and I think TW would have done that brilliantly.
I appreciate 0-0 or 1-1 away draws at difficult places to go, and surrendering possession is fine by me.

Delighted to hear Matt was a tad disappointed with only getting a draw. Got to say Wrexham were a shell of the side from that what was under Ricketts last season. Hopefully he can get the training sessions in that Matt desires so the boys can become more creative and keep the ball and see out games like yesterday. Gifting easy possession versus a side low on confidence is never a good thing. I'm still a tad concerned moving forward but I can understand the lack of fluidity somewhat given his post match comments.
Anyways all the best folks until our next televised game.
