I’m bloody ecstatic again, don’t care about anything other than 3 points. If anyone needs to be brought down to earth there’s another thread on this forum currently discussing taking babies to football. Swerve that one and celebrate a bloody great win instead.

Well done lads what a great night. Ironically we have played better many times this season and have lost. Very true. I don't know about the rest of you but as soon as Dundas came on we suddenly found this great level of confidence out of nowhere (the equaliser helped too). I know some say he's too old and we need to look to the future but my word he didnt look out of place tonight!

We all know that Craig Dundas is a talismanic figure for this club. And Victoria Road is the ground on which he scored his hundredth Sutton goal. Evenso there were a few gasps from the visiting fans when in the 65th minute he came on as a substitute for Omar Bugiel. Twenty seconds later we had equalised. Dundo didn't get a touch of the ball then (but may have distracted a few defenders!), Craig Eastmond making the decisive contact from a free kick. Three minutes later Tommy Wright darted through in the inside left channel and placed the ball perfectly across Elliot Justham for our second. Tommy might have had two more after that, shooting just wide on both occasions. He's getting back to his best. We'd started the match on the front foot but the Daggers gradually grew into the contest, Nik Tzanev making a good save from a Joe Quigley header, and Louis John - who had an outstanding game - making two important interceptions at the expense of corners. Tzanev saved again from Quigley early in the second half, but we then went behind when a home attack culminated in a Mitch Brundle shot that seemed to go under Tzanev. After that the game looked in danger of drifting away from us - until that inspired substitution! Another player who didn't last the 90 minutes was Jamie Collins, apparently not yet fully fit, and who was booked in the first half for a clumsy challenge that seemed to do him more damage than his opponent. Kyel Reid came on for him, Eastmond dropping back into defence. Reid might have earned a penalty late on when sandwiched by two defenders but the ref declined to give it. There were five minutes of stoppage time to endure, but our players saw that out for their second win in three matches, the three points taking us out of the bottom four on goal difference.

No doubt we needed that, the determination to win was what got that deserved result tonight. If we in any other season we would be saying should have won that 4-1 at a canter.
It wasn't much different from other performances where we got nowt, but you could also see the problems tonight, still very disjointed going forward as a unit. As a team with Louis in that back 4 we do look potentially as good as any, we need to put someone to the sword at GGL.

About time we got some luck! Win on sat and we will be exactly on 25 points with half the season gone. Fair play to Matt he's made some changes and mixed things up, my only moan now is that he's starting with 5 attacking players on the bench and has forsaken the academy players which could be seen as shortsighted. Surely the likes of the departed lema or Pearce on the bench as a defensive option is a better plan than constantly relying on playing senior players out of position?! Anyway, well done to all on a very good result

No gasps from me when Dundo came on. Like for like to give Kenny Clark a battle.
As for Brad and Crossley, Matt G pointed out in i/v last Saturday that Brad's rehabilitation from injury had suffered a few set backs while Crossley isn't always starting for Leatherhead in Ryman Prem. Suggests neither is ready for nl football.
May need another ch though if Ben G isn't fit, Skip looked buggered when he went off. Playing through the pain barrier. Top, top player.

That's our first midweek evening victory in all first team competitions (which of course doesn't include the SSC which for records I believe isn't classed as such) since 4th September 2018, when we beat Maidstone 1-0. The last time we did that at home was a month earlier against Eastleigh on 7th Aug 2018.
It's also the first win of the season where we've come from behind to win, and the first game since Eastleigh in August where we've got at least a point after going behind.

Have the league confirmed that only 3 go down yet? Anyone know?

We didn't play as well as in recent matches but we managed to come home with 3 points. The shape was wrong with Harry on the left hand side as he has no left foot. Every time the ball was played to him he had to check back and this slowed down our attacking option down that side. I'm sure it was done to accommodate 2 up front. We don't play two up away from home but i'm glad we did as Tommy was on song ! Omar was a little off the pace and not winning his headers so it made sense to bring on Dundo as he was on fire winning everything. Great to win away from home and now lets win at home. Hopefully starting with Harrogate !

Have the league confirmed that only 3 go down yet? Anyone know? Have the league also confirmed that we didn't dream last night's result?

An incredible night for goal scoring - by my reckoning there were 53 goals scored across 12 matches last night! Only 1 match had fewer goals than ours...
