Both sides are in the top half of the form league. However Wrexham's away form is just as poor as our home record. I believe they have never won on 3G! Let's hope that record continues.

I'm expecting a very stiff test from Wrexham tomorrow as their form has certainly picked up.
Don't forget to get your Amber 500 tickets before tomorrows draw for "The Money Can't Buy Prizes ".
They will still be on sale until the end of the year for the cash prizes!

Bit of festive cheer for everyone. 5-0 wouldn't have flattered us, better all round display than Chesterfield but one has to feel sorry for wrexham fans, their side was awful and how they've managed to go from the strongest defensive unit in the league to relegation candidates is well documented yet still hard to fathom.
Omar was immense today, best individual performance of the season. Fair play to Matt for turning things around, it shows character to admit you've made a mistake and try doing things differently, and he's not been afraid to make some hard choices recently with the likes Butler,Milsom and collins (admittedly injury has played it's part).
20 more points needed that's exactly one point per game for the remaining 20 fixtures, assuming 50 is the mark. 5 wins 5 draws should be well within the abilities of this squad

I agree with baboonfish , what a great result and performance . Looking at the table though and although we are now a very welcome four points clear of the drop zone it is all so tight with more teams now looking over their shoulders with each passing week . I would not be at all surprised if more than 50 points is required to stay up , say 54 or 55 . Enough of that though , a great win and a great day to be a supporter of this wonderful club . THREE POINTS , THE BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT !

Omar will correctly gets lots of praise for his goals however my man of the match was Craig Eastmond. He was superb in midfield and well supported by Kenny Davis.

Really pleased with that. Every single player put a proper shift in and all keep their skill levels high.
Well done everyone.

If you look at the last 5 games, only Barrow are better than us at the moment. That's an absolutely fantastic turnaround.

Fantastic. On 16/11 we travelled to face in-form Torquay. We were down the bottom, bottom of the form table and they were within 2 points of the top of the league. Little over a month later we’re 3 places and 4 points off them with the same goal difference. Funny old league.

And Sutton are only ten points off the play-offs. Continue in this rich vein of form and the 3G debate can start all over again! OK I'm being slightly faecitous.

Indeed - that previously in-form Torquay now prop up that form table along with Dagenham, having lost all of their last five.

Good win with a super performance. The movement was out of this world at times especially creating the second goal. More of the same please !

Yup, excellent performance and great result. This was an open game, with both teams going for the three points, but Wrexham were rather like us earlier in the season, i.e. nice approach play but little end product. We, on the other hand, had Omar Bugiel!
Omar's early run created an opportunity for David Ajiboye whose rasping shot was tipped over by visiting keeper Rob Lainton. Then some great play by Tommy Wright, whose shot was blocked, saw Omar follow up to score our opener. Our second came from a beautiful counter-attack, Kenny Davis heading the ball out of defence and Jon Barden surging through on the right to help set up Omar. Ajiboye had a decent shout for a penalty waved away, but a second-half foul, I think on Omar, saw a spot kick awarded and he duly completed his hat-trick. That's now five goals in his last three games.
It was a bit disappointing to concede late on, but Wrexham perhaps deserved a consolation goal.
I agree that the returning Craig Eastmond had a superb game, but this was a terrific team performance. The three points lift us to 17th and we're now four points clear of Wrexham in 21st place.
EDIT: it seems the foul for the pen was on Louis John. Also worth adding that the performance was all the more commendable for coming just four days after that gruelling and dispiriting Trophy defeat at Dagenham. Wrexham had no such excuse!
