Might the following idea be a potential revenue stream for the club? The non-league fixtures are going to be utterly decimated tomorrow. On such Saturdays it seems to me that clubs with 3G could offer several time slots (e.g. 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.) for any other clubs interested in switching venue in order to fulfil their fixture. If we (or SCR) were playing at home on a particular Saturday, then we could take the 3 p.m. slot and offer the other two.
Whether it would be logistically possible I’m not sure. I can certainly see individual matches being switched more and more. I’ve noticed that there are two venue changes tomorrow in the Southern Combination: Crawley Down Gatwick v Horsham YMCA will now be on Steyning’s 3G and Alford v East Preston at Horsham’s.

Nice idea Amberchoc but it wouldn't work, at least not without alienating teams that had already booked the pitch. I've seen the pitch diary and the 3G is booked almost solidly seven days a week, including on Saturdays before first team matches. Obviously that's a benefit of having the artificial surface and is central to the club's role in the local community.

Which begs the question 'what happens if we draw an away cup match?' Presumably there are agreements in place with our regular Tuesday night renters, and they know that there is a chance that their slots may get cancelled?

Some of the bookings are flexible and a certain amount of reshuffling goes on each week, but I think the club does its best to accommodate regular users.

It’s good to know that the pitch is in constant use.
